Does Line app work on Tesco Mobile?
I have lots of friends that I text in France and Norway. Tesco hit me for 20p a text which adds up over time.
(it's 8p a text when roaming thanks to the EU...but 20p in the UK).
I tried using Viber app on my android phone, but Tesco billed me for all texts sent from within the app, plus it crashed a lot, so I removed it.
French friend has now suggested Line. It works for her to her daughter in Madrid (although so does Viber, so she's not sure why I got charged).
Any info on whether this would work for free texts to French and Norwegian mobiles please?

There is no reason why Line shouldn't work. I use Skype, which is similar and it all goes via the data connection.
In the Tesco T&Cs, it doesn't appear to mention not allowing voice over IP (such as Skype) and they allow tethering, so it looks likely it will work.0
