Blackberry 9810 REBOOTING :( !!!! HELP

Hi All,
I have a contract with Orange (originally and Iphone) i asked orange to send me a normal sim card so i could buy a sim free phone and continue using my contract sim.
Orange sent me my new normal sim card and my friend gave me a blackberry 9810 works perfect with any sim card.
When i turn on blackberry it works fine when network selection is off! As soon as i put in sim card or activate network it continues to just reboot????? I have erased phone etc and software.
My sim card is fine as tried in other phones, can someone help? It sounds as though something simple??
