Not to mention it makes budgeting much more diffilcult as a DD goes out on a set date whilst paying bills manually you can juggle bills around without £35 penalty fees,0 -
Any news about that lady taking BT to court over this? (Covered on Radio 2 or 4 last week)0

yes i know that someone is taking BT to court over this. I'm taking 3, mobile network operator, to court over this too0

She lost the case. Judgement ruled in favour of BT.0

So in no uncertain terms, it's basically not worth your own time to take BT to a small claims court over the PPF as this judgement has proven, as its going to be wasting not only your time, but possibly your money.0

According to the Daily Mail the Office of Fair Trading are looking at this -
'The Office of Fair Trading believes customers who were with the telecommunications giant before it implemented its £4.50 quarterly fee for not paying by direct debit can argue a strong case against paying the charge'.0 -
But now a test case has found in Favour of BT this therefore set a precedent. The judge said customers had plenty of warning of the impending charge so they could either agree to it and transfer to a DD or alternatively find a new supplier.0

It has in fact been now brought to court on five different occassions and on each one it was found to be legal.
If people dont like BT,s charges why dont they move to a new supplier if they can.0 -
Same probs with Virgin.Watchdog made up a template letter to be sent to companies with this charge, stating how unfair it was,i duly sent one and it made not one iota of difference. Its a case of if one company drops their dd charges, all companieswill have to follow suit.To stop Virgin getting any more of my hard earned i was forced to sign up for dd even though i am totally against it.0
