well no letter as I have just received another email stating

"the notice has been issued correctly. the photographic evidence shows the PCN on the vehicle at the time the issued was noticed. your vehicle did not have a permit on display and the signage above your vehicle shows that you were not able to park here."

So now what do I do as they are expecting me to pay this fine! BTW this is from Roxburghe

hi all its been a couple of months since I made this post. I was contacted by a debt recovery company who I told point blank no evidence no money.
Today I have received an email with photos of my old car with a parking ticket on it. There are a couple of things wrong on the photos aside from the non existent road that I've looked for on Google. These things are, my seat belts in the rear are fastened, I have 3 children one of which has a booster seat with a back. The other is the time the photo was taken I would have been finishing the morning school run.
This is starting to get to me now. If anyone can please help with this I would be most grateful.

Are you saying that this was not you? It's possible your car may have been cloned in which case the police need to be informed. Or are you saying that it's your old car and maybe you've not informed the DVLA that it's no longer yours?

there are internal differences is seat belts done up and something on the passenger visor that don't match how my car would look but on the whole it certainly looks like my car but I don't have a clue where its parked as I say the road doesn't come up when you search for it. dvla were informed of the sale when it happened in march which is when I sold the car.

This sounds very much like DVLA never received notification of change of owner. The only way the parking company can get your address is from DVLA. I'd ring DVLA and check but my guess is the car is still registered in your name. Wither the notification went missing in the post or the trader didn't send it of maybe? The reason car looks different is because someone else has owned it since March. You'll have to sort it with DVLA first and tell them the reason you have become aware.

But the offence was in February before you sold the vehicle?

I would check with DVLA that the transfer has gone through, although they will probably want this in writing due to data protection.

These people want you to pay up first. They are a private company that exist for profit alone. Next best thing for them is for you to contact them as it proves you are bothered and have received their junk mail. I wouldn't contact them further and let them fade away. The chances of them going taking you to The Small Claims is practically zero.
Search my post " PoPLA evidence - What to submit" on what is a good defense for a PoPLA appeal.
  • Guys I have the letter of transfer from dvla so that's all in order.

Now they have my email that's how they are contacting me. Since the receipt of the photos this morning I have had 3 emails asking me to contact them. I have ignored each one. hope I'm doing right.

Advice was already given above. You should have appealed to the PPC (and then won a POPLA second stage appeal) like I advised you to in May. Any thread tells people what to do, all cases are the same (except in Scotland), any reading of the first few threads on the forum page 1 would have shown you what to do.

Too late now but you did not play this right by ignoring it when it's clear you were still in time in May to challenge it ('Plan A' but you missed the chance). You will be getting junk mail and phone calls and emails for months/years now unless you get busy and try 'Plan B' and 'Plan C' to get the scam fake PCN cancelled.

Plan B: You could try complaining in writing to their client at that site if it was a customer car park for a retailer, college, cinema, or other legit business who may actually care that a customer is being harassed by their agent:

and 'Plan C' you can complain to the DVLA and Steve C at the BPA like this, since it appears the alleged PCN was from February and the letter to keeper was sent too late, 3 months later. Breach of the BPA Code of Practice by an AOS member and too late for any registered keeper liability:

Should not have ignored the PPC, you could have won at POPLA by now. Seems to me the only people you responded to were the ones you should have ignored (debt collector). Be proactive if you want it cancelled.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Couponmad as much as I am grateful for peoples help I have had so much to deal with over the last few months and I'm probably going to be stupid but I don't know where page one of the forum is as I thought it was this.
All the abbreviations in posts mean nothing to me ppc, BPA, popla etc. yes I could've asked but the sudden death of my father overtook this so my asking has perhaps not been what it should've been.
please could you put it in simple terms as to what I should do? I want this sorted but without understanding how can I.
