Over Estimated bill query

Hi just looking for some advice please.
My gas bill was estimated and a lot higher than it actually was. I have put in my actual readings but the bill is due to be paid really soon (they've moved us over to this stupid system where they just e-mail you and the e-mail went unnoticed).
My question is - do I just pay the estimated amount? Will that just make my account go into credit when they readjust it, or do I risk waiting for them to change it (I'm worried I will forget and then be stung for late payment charges on a high bill).
Thank you for your kind responses.

good idea - but sure that would be one of those expensive 0870 numbers or something.0

With my previous supplier you paid what you got billed for even if it was estimated. They can only change the bill if the actual reading reached them in time before they started processing the bills. So your account will go into credit and next month you could just give your reading earlier? My supplier now gives me a date by when to supply a reading so that it is incorporated in the next bill.
If they issued you a bill already you need to pay it.03/26: OD £1200 600 500, CC £3914 3317, family £3100, loan £5618 5306 5036- total: £13832 12323 12003, mortgage £58,243 £57,766 571140 -

You could always convert the 0800, 0870 or 0845
Goto google and search for 'convert 0845 numbers' and use the links.
I'd post the link but as a newbie I'm not able to0 -
Can you easily afford the bill? Are you on a two tier or daily standing charge tariff? If a two-tier tariff I would have definitely just paid the bill as you would then gain from more tier 2 priced units and wait to supply a correct reading closer to the end of next quarter. But if you have submitted an actual reading then it is probably too late for that.0

Sorry I didn't get back - I over paid it and they credited it me back.0
