Viewing before exchange?

Hi all,
I am buying a house that needs a lot of work. Do I need to view it before exchange? If yes - why.? What should i check?

the reason for viewing is to make sure it is as you expected . I assume you got a survey done .
The kitchen ,bathroom ,fireplace ,wooden floors ,light fittings ect are still there .

Yes I got the survey done. The property is structurally fine. They filled the fixtures and fittings forms.

All of these are very old. They are all being replaced.

The vendor has to provide the property to you in the condition it was at exchange so it's worth checking that nothing has changed. Maybe some guttering fell down since the survey? Who knows really, that's why it's good to take a look.
