flight delayed & travel insurance company are not helping

Hi we got delayed on the 4th may for 13hrs at glasgow airport,airline told us 3 stories why we got delayed ranging from tech issue .pilot reahed his flying time & last one was that our plane was given to another flight,our travel insurance company wont listen to us as they just ask if we had any other expenses and dont even take out details or policy number,( we want to claim for the flight delay) as we are already putting in a claim for missing 1 day of our all inclusive holiday inluding lunch,diner etc ,etc
