Very disappointed with TalkTalk

If I were you, I would swallow my pride and go back to VM or look to get a fibre optic connection.
Had a recent experience with the home movers team from TT with similar confused phone calls and a customer rep calling me a !!!! when she thought the line was already cut. And all I had done was ask her to confirm the engineer appointment but this was too much for the rep to comprehend.
We did have an engineer come over twice as well to no avail after which I received a letter from TT saying my contract has been cancelled without any explanation. They claimed that they couldn't connect the line. Funny that BT could (OpenReach both times) and now enjoying BT Infinity.0 -

But it's still OR who connect the lines for TT...No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I'm reading this with the same but worse problem.
We've left BT and paid upfront for a broadband phone package, 6 weeks and still NOTHING BUT EXCUSES from TT
They're blaming it on BT openreach, but I cant see how, the junction box is outside our house , and all the neighbours have it, hence me online now. ( kind neighbour )
We've spoken to the manager yesterday, who said he couldnt do anything because they were updating their phone systems and couldnt bring up our details.
As advised, I am going on talktalk website. I want our money back....
jessegee
NB; I cant get on the TT forum, because we dont have a phone line or full customer account number yet, !!!!s sake, this is ridiculous!
Does anyone have any advice/suggestions how we can sort this out?0 -
See my advice in the other thread - just because you have a cab outside of your house doesn't mean it's not full or the cable going to it has any free pairs.
If either of these is the case (as the other thread would suggest) you're going to be waiting a while.
A cable may have no spare pairs because several of them are faulty, so other users have been moved to what were the 'free' pairs, leaving none available.
I had an interesting experience a while ago, a customer with no service for many weeks due to a pair issue. All pairs taken, hers were faulty, and she wondered why I couldn't 'cut someone else off' as it was important she goes online! Some people...
Eventually half a KM of cable had to be replaced. Major jobby.0 -
