Vodafone 3G

Hi,I hope you guys can help me!
I took a 24month contract from Vodafone store for iPhone 5,for £35/month.
It's been almost 6/12 with them now but I hardly get any 3G signals anywhere,so literally I'm using my ph for call s txt msgs unless I'm home n use wifi.
Had several long calls with customer services by advising different settings by no luck.Instore team tried changing sim but no improvement. Was told to take to apple, who couldn't find any fault with handset.
Now,I have still 18months with them n it's very hard for me to go without Internet for that long esp at my work.called them if I can cancel the contract but as expected they refused.they suggested I can make a complaint.
Now where do I stand?I don't want to pay £35 just for calls n txt msgs?Is it worth making a complaint?do such complaints ever make decisions in your favor? How can I plead my cast to win?
I"ll really appreciate any advise
Thanks

No network guarantees 100% coverage. Many parts of the UK still have minimal or no 3G at all. Did you not check the Voda coverage before taking out a 24 month contract?
6 months into your contract you really have zero chance of voiding it without penalty.

    Unfortunately macman is correct.

You're not in norfolk by any chance? Voda have been down there for god knows how long.

What i would do is put in a complaint through their complaint system. If that gets no where then go through their head office.

You don't have the right to cancel your contract due to lack of network coverage. The only time you could have done that was during the cool off period.

If you get no signal at home then vodafone offer a home signal box thing which they give out for free sometimes. Also go ahead with the complaint like i said, usually networks can give goodwill bill credits if you kick up enough of a fuss or they could even give you the option to cancel the contract if your contract includes an network signal guarantee but that is very rare in contracts today.

I know some networks like Three have a network guarantee built into their contracts where if you have no signal in your area you can attempt to cancel the contract (once they've gone through all options like home booster etc...) free of charge. But this is because they are a 3G network only.

I'm not sure if Vodafone have something like this because they provide 2G and 3G. So even if you're not getting 3G you should still be getting 2G correct? That counts as coverage so cancelling your contract free of charge is pretty much out of the question. Getting a home signal box or a reduction on your monthly bill through goodwill can happen if the complaint is successful.

Vodafone have Sure Signal, but that won't help the OP at work.

I dont get signal at work, but thats the building
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Seems to me you need to do some elimination.

Have you any friends with IPhone/Vodafone combination near you that you can compare signals with? There must be some.

Have you gone into an Apple store or CPW and compared in there? It is important that you can isolate problem to handset or network.

Actually according to root metrics Three and EE have come top in numerous cities then followed by O2 with Vodafone trailing at the bottom with over an 8% call failure rate in a large part of the UK.

Mainly because Three and EE use pretty much the same core network is why Three has improved so much and now has more 3G coverage than Voda and O2. Three's network isn't as bad as it was... their customer service still is though :p
