Tues 14th May - What small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :T
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning all! I'm the early bird again! At least I'm up and about unlike OH (still masquerading as a pig-in-blanket all wrapped up in quilt)
I hope everyone is feeling better today. Dodgy group hug!:grouphug:
I was so restrained yesterday. It got really nippy in the evening but I refused to put the fire on. Got a warm drink and a blanket. Was still cold but didn't cost as much!
Today's mission:
Check online banking - done. New savings pot account has appeared.
B/L/D from stores - think I have some left over sausage casserole in the freezer and some potatoes that DEF need using up (mmm mash) - yup so it is.
Continue healthy eating. (was VERY heavy this morning) - hmmmmm
Check seedlings. (need not to obsess about them) - one of the stupid butternut squash leaves cannot get out of seed casing and broke off as the grew! Have dug out the others to prevent this
Check tax code - can't remember if it's right now the new allowance has kicked in - cheers Ally, just needed to check my payslip and it's correct
Try and get off my butt at lunchtime and go for a walk. Something about my office seems to suck all the oomph right out of me  - noo, couldn't face it
Have another look at spreadsheet. Apparently next month, with no debt repayments I will be skinter than ever?! o.O
Must sort dandelion wine tonight. not happening
Have a good one guysLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -

* all meals from stores - look through cupboard & fridge and enjoy I use up what's needed to today... steak out of freezer for oh. Might make him a rice thingy so he can have it with his dinner tonight. He is doing some freelance work and is working all hours at the moment...
* bananas out of freezer to make banana bread for oh (got to be inventive if I want to get him to stick to our fiscal fast! Also going to make some weetabix brownies while oven is on
* go and pick a mountain of dandellions and start the process...
* have dug out bucket for seeping dandelions, cleaned it and it is sterilising as I type
* do some filling ready for painting & a bit more sanding
* get my car ready for starting work -clean, oil, water, tyre pressure, petrol
* drop off sack barrow to old work place while in town
* take some old phones to a recycling shop for the charity I work for
* call my boss and tell her I have my CRB and agree a start date

Just quickly cos am in work *whistles*
The recipe I had was from the SelfSufficientish book. It calls for a pint jug full of dandelion heads to make 2 bottles of wine (I had a lot of dandelions so I just doubled up accordingly). They didn't mention it but most recipes then recommend that you pull all the petals off the green stuff, which I did. It's probably best to pull the petals off quite soon after you pick them because they start to close up quite soon.LBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.310 -
Morning
Love the seed obsessing carrielovesfanta very funny.
Good luck with your Dandilion wine making Determined New MS. I have to say i always giggle as I type your name as to me it read 'Determined new Mz' as in the name instead of Mrs. So I picture you as a real determined lady
Today, coffee and cake at a friends with the kids. I am taking the cake which is already made and in the fridge. Dinner will be something with chicken. The shepards pie went down very well last night, little man had two plates and so did large man. I love seeing my child clean his plate as it doesnt often happen. He has always been a good eater as in the range, but he tends to get glowing reports from pre school as in he ate 2 or 3 plate fulls, at home hes much more picky.
No spends planned for today. Fine for petrol and food.
Not enjoying all the paperwork and checking involved from the accountants at this time of year. Important but oh so time consuming/dull.
Right, off for now. Have a great day all.

Morning DFW-Jedis,
Carrie: thanks for the kick-off. The rest of you all beat me out of bed this morning.
So today is a bit complicated. I have all my DFW-things to do before we set off to a hotel further up the Highlands for our free dinner and night's stay. Then I have to hurtle back to the lowlands for a job interview tomorrow morning. So, today I will:- Spend £5.14 in Sainsbury's courtesy of Nectar AdPoints. Forgot to do this yesterday.
- Charge laptops and phones at the hotel.
- Do OnePoll.
- Check bank accounts, gulp.
- Free Red Bull. (Link)
