Morning everyone. Hugs to everyone who is feeling low.
I'm quite chipper today. Went out last night to a 50th birthday do. Spent slightly more than I intended - but only just. Spent about £12.50 when I hoped to keep it under a tenner, but I laughed more than I have done for ages so it was definitely worth it.
There's a 30th birthday do after work tonight, but if I go I can only stay for half an hour max as I have an appointment to give blood this evening, so at least I know I can't overspend tonight.
Other than that, it's just all the usual stuff for me. Need to pop to Aldi for salad stuff but it should be a fairly low spend day, and covered within my grocery budget.Debt free since December 2015. It can be done0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
I’m taking a break waiting for a process to finish running… tickety tock
Here’s me:Cheapo porridge brekkie
Packed lunch
Checked banking & ccs
Walking pooch at lunch time rather than shopping
10 days until payday – wondering whether my bonus is due… Must ask…
Must check tax code too – make sure it’s got allowance for professional fees I pay – I had to write to them last year – does anyone know if this transfers to next year or whether I’d need to apply again???
Checked fridge contents to see what we’re using up next – OH doing something with chicken tonight and I’m on fish pie duty tomorrow
For the chicken I bought thigh fillets rather than breast fillets – bit of a saving there
Got yoga class carried over until next block – working away next week so can’t make it.
Have a good day folks – don’t work too hard (that’s my mantra of the day!)

Well things are getting a little bit more back on track thank godness. Lovely that my new OH seems as keen to get things sorted as I do which is a great sign already.
Today:
- Got up an hour earlier today to get more things done
- lunch from stores, dinner from stores as well but may need to get a pepper to go with it.
- re written CV and will drop into place where I have seen a part time admin role available and hoping they will take me on a self employed basis
- got lots of work out of the way today.
- check food planner and make sure there is nothing I need for the meals for the next few days and plan the next five days.
- print off M & S voucher towards getting something for DM birthday
- need to do sainsburys adpoints on my card today, OH tomorrows
- doing swagbucks whilst working, need to check surveys
- Do one poll surveys
- do a new spenditure and debt spreadsheet
- find some bits to ebay and facebook sell
- Iron ten items and find some more bits to sell whilst going through
Ok think that is enough for one day. Hope everyone has a good day.APR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
April Money made - £18.000 -
Hi,
A peaceful day here today, but managing to get a few bits done.
*Did one load of laundry overnight on Economy 7. Decided to wash next load on full price tariff as should be able to get it dry on the line today. Decided that would be cheaper than waiting till overnight tonight for cheap tariff then having to put heating on to get stuff dry. Fancy old naughty spendthrift foxgloves even thinking of stuff like this...how I've changed......AND I'm happier for it!
*Walked to the Post Office to post half my ebay parcels. I seem to have made a bit on the p&p tho' was sure I hadn't overcharged anyone...not sure how that's happened.
*Got a price for sending an ebay parcel to Poland. Despite all my listings saying I only post to the UK, I often get bids from elsewhere. High postage, but looks like buyer wants to pay so that's another parcel going off tomorrow.
*Did a few surveys...not many around today.
Still to do:
*Make dough for tonight's pizza, plus bread rolls for rest of the week's packed lunches.
*Carry on reading Alys Fowler's 'Thrifty Forager' book, which I got for my birthday last month.
*Pick a few leaves, radishes, herbs from garden to go in tonight's salad.
*Managed to get all the aubergines potted up yesterday as well as a row of lettuces planted out, so need to check they have all settled in OK.
Think that's everything. @pernicious - I was quite touched that you're inspired by my rubber chicken activity, lol. Actually, my partner has an enormous appetite too, but like me, he's long-term dieting, so this has definitely made food supplies last longer as he's had to reduce portion sizes significantly. He's done well, too, though, with 4 stones off so far.
Cheers,

Hello Again
An after lunch check in. nice morning and as predicted its an NSD!
Did a quick check and saw that there were some dividends paid by a company I have an old employee share scheme with. So that was nice. I've had them since 2007 and they've gone up and down in value, hardly a fortune, but the dividends have been reinvested each year so the number of shares does too. I'd like to be able to hang onto them and maybe actually add to them at some point. There in one of the larger blue chip insurance companies so they are a good thing to have over a long period.
Since we have been home from my friends I have
1) Cleaned out the fridge, and audited again. Tonights dinner will be jerk chicken, home made potato wedges, and pan fried onions & peppers. We all love jerk so I cant wait.
2) Am making stock using up all the frozen peelings, bones, and fresh peelings I had.
3) Tesco have issued their points for the quarter so will be looking out for those any day.
Later on we'll have a nice bubble bath before dinner. I really do love being able to do that on the at home days, as we tend to be quite late in on work days and I never have the same level of energy for bedtime/story on those days.
Saddo that I am Im also looking forward to tonights TV. Love my Easties/Holby City nights!
Did anyone see Supercrimpers last night? I couldnt believe how much the couple spent on food for their very young family. Worked out around £1,000 a month+. All they needed was to have this pointed out and they got straight onto saving money! Amazing.
Bye for now.
