Sun tan lotions!

I use factor 30 even though I tan easily, I do not want skin cancer and you can still get a nice tan with a high factor so it seems pointless to me to use a lower one. I always top it up after going in the water as both that and rubbing with a towel can reduce its effectiveness, I tend to use Hawaiian tropic.
Even with a once a day one I think I'd top up after going in the water I just wouldn't trust it.0 -
I'll also vote for the Calypso F20 Once and Day liquid/gel stuff.
It's not a cream like you're used to - and has no real fragrance to speak of, it's more alcohol scented when you first apply it, but that soon evaporates leaving no scent. (Which suits the OH).
I've used it now for two years, and haven't burnt at all - I have fair to medium skin - which did used to burn with usual F20 creams and sprays, but that's probably down to me not applying it often enough.
The Calypso range has, like the Riemann P20 stuff extended it's range to do other factors now, so as I'm off to Egypt in 5 weeks (Uber hot!) I've bought some F30 Calypso as well as F20 for once that runs out.
I generally work out using a 200ml bottle per person per week, though I'll admit I did run out last year with a day to go so had to buy some stuff locally there - which wasn't too bad as I already had my tan.
I got my F30 Calypso from Tesco when it was I think on offer at £6.
From my experience, and I'm fair/medium skinned which used to burn in the first few days of a holiday with normal cream/sprays - applying once a day does indeed work fine.
I was also dubious and carried it with me for a few days - but absolutely fine.
I swim/snorkel/scuba dive - so I'm generally in and out of the water a lot too - it seems to be fine with multiple towel rubs etc
The only slight downside that I've found is it can sometimes stain clothes if it gets on it whilst its still wet or gets splashed on something.
So may advise is to slap up entirely naked in the bathroom or wherever and move clothes until it's sank in.2 Tickets to Blackrock Masters Tennis:j0 -
My mum used to love sunbathing. She swore by a mixture of olive oil and vinegar, a bit like a French dressing really.0

Another vote here for Piz Buin. I used to use P20 but my children didn't like the smell and it can also be a bit sticky and takes a while to dry. Piz Buin is a lotion and sinks in straight away.
I burn very easily and factor 15 has always been fine however we are going to the Caribbean this year so have upped it to a 30 to be on the safe side.MSE newbie and loving every minute :j0 -

ive used both the reimann p20 and the ultrasun spf 50, i have found both very good to use and would recommend them both, i like the just apply once idea but have found that if i am in and out of the water all day i tend to re-apply just to be safe0

Another vote for P20, great for me and my teenage daughter who is very pale skinned with strawberry blonde hair (ok gingerish)0
