My OH has had an orange contract for about 8 years. It is a contract that we get billed for each month, there is no line rental and its as simple as if she doesnt use it, we get a bill for zero.
As far as im aware they dont offer such a contract anymore as its litterally a pay as you go ( at the end of the month)
The problem is she has had the phone now since the contract started and its ancient as you can imagine!
Does anyone have this type of contract?
I want to upgrade but im not sure if they will offer me. I mean she spends ATLEAST £10 per month! ! !
Anyone else upgraded on it?

I've heard of that type of contract - although I'd imagine you're now out of the "contract" period?
I think what Orange will offer you depends on your average monthly usage; and it's one of those deals that they can only do over the phone (afaik). If you don't like anything they offer you, you can just stay on the same deal and buy a new phone to use0 -
Ah yes, the Virgin tariff. Officially I don't believe you can "upgrade" on this tariff (although I don't work in CS so don't quote me). You might be just as well to choose a new phone from the Orange PAYG range and put your SIM in. If the tariff suits you well, it's probably the easiest solution!!0

The Orange EQ Virgin Tariff as it was then called is now discontinued across the company, its only honoured it to existing customers. The retail outlets can't upgrade the tariff anymore so it must go through customer services no matter what. From experience I've found that they'll try to sell you a phone at the full retail value of the handset, tbh you're unlikely to get a phone for free unless you move on to a fixed spend tariff (i.e. £x per month)... Sometimes the price of the h/set is more expensive than the same phone on PAYG...
The alternative as japitts said is to buy a PAYG phone and put your SIM in, be careful as strictly speaking if they find out its an invalidation of the warranty of the handset to use a SIM other than the one its sold in, and you'll probably have to put credit on the SIM you buy with the phone which you could just use up.
Hope this helps0 -
thanxs all, i spoke to them a couple of days ago and they offered me a mobile for £110 that you can buy in tesco's for £40 so i think we will cancel the contract and go somewhere else.0
