When is the damage happening? that will give you an idea of either dear set ups which do IR for decent pictures at night/low light, or a cheaper set up for just day time.
You will need HD cameras if it's for prosecution, as you will need to be able to identify either faces, or clothing clearly, and whether it's damage happening in line of a window if you don't want to fix cameras outside.
Basically couple of cameras covering all areas, that covers night and day clearly in good quality resolution, fixed at a height where it cannot be accessed, and Also recording elsewhere, ie to a computer, vcr player, or on a box attached to the camera (but not next to a camera so it could be damaged, or removed) These are my recommendations.
Otherwise just borrow a camcorder and throw it in the window and see if it works, but remember you can't go back and improve the quality after the damage is done.
Approach the likes of police for vulnerability and feeling insecure to see if they can fit a temp system, talk to environmental health to see if they can help install any, and also victim support to see what they can suggest/help with.0 -
thanks for the reply, really good advice thanks, m witing the police to arrive as i type.
the damage is done during the night, ive had 5 tyres let down during a 3 week period, ive hd things thrown into my back garden (no big deal) but two nights ago at 10,15pm i was sat watching tv when there was two very loud bangs on my window, i went to see what it was but as my house has an alley behind it (with access to neighbours property and no one else) it is completely dark, the next morning i found two half bricks laid underneath my window, when ive looked into the alley there are a few more chunks of bricks littering the alley, plus they let their dog kak on my drive then ring the dog warden up and report my dog, saying they witnessed it when myself and two other neighbours see his dog with him watching, now usually i just clean up after his dog but am getting irritated now.
i spoke to someone who said he was a nasty piece of work and to be careful as he had thretened to put her baby "in a box" then attcked her husband. so i am concerned.
i shall contact the relevant suggestions thank you, im also thinking about webcams from my computer, is this an option? obviosuly i cant run two, im mid terrace and need to cover front and rear.
excuse the type errors, disabillity sorry...

You can buy an internal one but the night vision will not work through a window (you will just get shine back). Maybe get a small wireless outdoor ip camera. It connects via wifi and only needs power.
Do you want something small so you can catch people or large as a deterrent?0 -
Why do you think you are being targetted?0

Check your local Aldi. They had a set of I.R CCTV cameras in stock a week or so ago, you might still pick them up if lucky.Laters

It doesn't really matter why she thinks, or is, targeted. The people who cause problems are not right in the head, nor are they bought up to be right humans. It can be down to something silly as the "look" that they gave someone else, or even to no reason at all. Having had experience of unhinged neighbours, and frankly after the most recent court case of a seriously unhinged woman who killed another family then if there are issues, talking isn't going to sort it out with the said person.
First step is to find out who they actually are, and follow on. Always follow on, always pass incidents to the police and get crime reference numbers, and don't be put off with you have to live with it.
You really need a wired system with night vision, so do get in touch with the aforementioned people to see if they'd put in cameras. If you find it's disruptive neighbours complain to environmental health and their relevant landlord (if they don't own) to ascertain if there are other or previous issues. Be aware that if you own your own home, this action would potentially need to be passed on to any future buyers that you've had neighbour problems, but if you rent. go right ahead and always follow it up. Any time you speak to someone get their name, the time and date, and a brief written overview of convo/actions to take.
And edited to add, start now to keep a log of any and everything that happens to you, car damage, comments, weird behaviour (say in front of your house, or you) and times/dates.0 -
hi agin thanjs for the repliess, the full story began 4 years ago, my ex husband is a dog handler and had to take the dog from the kennel in our backyard nd straight into the car for legal aand security reasons, this neighbour owns the alley but we all have rights of access, he parked his numerouss cars and vans in the alley blocking mine and other neighbours access. my ex husband couldnt get his dog out to get to work on numerous occassions so he asked the neighbour if he would please not do this, the response was FO ... from him and his wife. after a while of this happening and my ex asking them to stop, the windcreen on our car got put thro, the neighbours children were bouncing balls, throwing things at our fence making the dogs bark, then they reported our dogs.
we eventully manged to get photographs of the incidents and presented the neighbours with this. again we got FO.
my ex husband left some 3 years ago and the neighbours have continued causing me problems, i do have plenty of photographs of them flicking the V at me, parking over my exit blah blah. but i have no evidence of the tyres, nor the bricks.
could someone please post a direct link to one of their recommendaatuions, im not sure what an ip camera is or what i need.
sorry im a bit dim, never had to deal with this before.thnks loopsTHE CHAINS OF HABIT ARE TOO WEAK TO BE FELT UNTIL THEY ARE TOO STRONG TO BE BROKEN... :A0 -
This is essentially what my parents put up, but with additional cameras. But this is the whole lot, 2 day/night HD cameras, and the recording box
http://www.maplin.co.uk/500gb-2-camera-4-channel-cctv-system-with-internet-and-smartphone-viewing-636713 £199 though. They basically don't have to do anything, it's just there recording away just in case. Mind you, it's not fun going back over long periods of footage
No recommendation really, but this is the kind of system that's up atm for parents. You may find cheaper/better elsewhere, but this is maybe a starting point of a full system.0 -
