Hi All

Just thought I'd share my latest Vodaphone Experience.

Termination of my Vodaphone legacy price plan without my knowledge and placing me on a reduced price plan.

I've had the following contract for the last 11 months
300 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB mobile internet and 750MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi (SIMO4 11 12 300M UTXT 500MB WF)

I logged in today and its changed to
300 minutes, unlimited texts, 250 MB of internet and BlackBerry services plus 500 UK Vodafone to Vodafone minutes (SIMO8 12M 300M 250MB BB)

The !!!!!!s had reduced my tarrif 2 months ago and i hadn't even realized until i logged into vodaphone online today!

So I contacted Customer Services.......

You are now connected with Vijay.
Vijay: Hello, you're chatting with Vijay, one of Vodafone's online customer service specialists. May I take your full name and mobile number please?
You: Hi There, I've noticed that my monthly data allowance has reduced from 500Mb to 250Mb........do you know why?
Vijay: I will check this for you
You: ******* *************
Vijay: Before I provide you with any account specific information or make any changes on the account, I would require some information for verification.
Vijay: Please provide me with the first line of address with the postal code and date of birth so that we can proceed.
You: **** *** ** * * ** * * * * * * * * *
Vijay: Thank you, that clears your security with me.
Vijay: Please stay connected whilst I check the account for you.
You: OK THANKS
Vijay: I can confirm that your price plan includes 250 MB of data usage
You: but it's always been 500Mb ?
Vijay: can you confirm when was this price plan changed ?
You: Could have been max 2 months ago, but prior to that I've always had 500Mb of data.
You: just checking my bills but surely you have view of them?
You: in March my Bill states.......Your Plan comes with 300 minutes, unlimited texts, 500MB mobile internet and 750MB BT Openzone Wi-Fi (SIMO4 11 12 300M UTXT 500MB WF)
Vijay: I understand your concern but as the price plan is recently changed, you might have been updated with the new price plan, once you confirm then only price plan is been changed,
You: then April it stated........Your Plan comes with 300 minutes, unlimited texts, 250 MB of internet and BlackBerry services plus 500 UK Vodafone to Vodafone minutes (SIMO8 12M 300M 250MB BB)
You: Why would my price plan have changed?
Vijay: Do you wish to change the price plan ?
You: I would like my old price plan back, but i don't want to sign up to another 12 months as the current one is due to come to an end soon.
Vijay: let me check
Vijay: Just want to confirm do you wish to have BB services, Are you using blackberry handset ?
You: No
You: This isn't going to change my 'Upgrade' date is it?
Vijay: no it won's change it
Vijay: won't
You: Ok thanks
Vijay: You are welcome
Vijay: Is there anything else I can do for you today?
You: Or the price?
Vijay: I am checking the price, As your old price plan is not available now, I will check some new price plan. please stay connected
You: ok
You: I'm still unsure as to why I was removed from my old price plan?
Vijay: it was legacy price plan thats the reason it was changed.
You: Can that be done without my consent? I signed up to that agreement on a 12 month basis.
Vijay: I would like to inform you that your price plan was legacy price plan so it is changed to newer price plan. Further if you wish to have more data allowances we can add £2.50 (exc VAT) pack which will give you extra 500MB of data allowances, please confirm
You: It was changed to a newer price plan with less data? that doesn't sound correct. i logged in today with a view of upgrading but now Im not too sure. Is this normal practice to change the terms of the contract 9 months into the agreement and provide a deal that is less than i originally signed up for?
Vijay: no its not like that. it was just your price plan was legacy price plan and it was changed.
Vijay: Further I can see that you are eligible for upgrade at this moment.
Vijay: if you wish I can call and transfer you to them
Vijay: they can assist you further with the new price plan and also with the contract
Vijay: You can go for SIM only deal and contract deal as well
You: Yes i know I am, but Im not impressed that Vodaphone has reduced my Data allowance, I've only just noticed today, what would have happened if I had exceeded the 250Mb?
Vijay: I understand your concern.
You: To the right of this chat window there is an image saying 'Here to Help - Vodaphone' It wouldn't have been very helpful if I had a massive enexpected bill.
You: Vodaphone have been brilliant eversince I joined you 2 years ago, I really dont want to shop around for a new provider as i was very happy with your service (Up until about an hour ago).
You: Is there anything further you can do to help?
Vijay: If you wish you can add the service pack of £2.50 (exc VAT) which will give you 500MB of data allowances.
Vijay: so in total your price plan will be of £8.75 + £2.50 (exc VAT) = 11.25 (exc VAT)
Vijay: but with that you will have 750 MB of data usage
You: If there isn't then i may be forced to speak with the annoying ginger sales guy at the Carphone Warehouse who always interrupts my lunchbreak when walking through town!
Vijay: Do you wish to add the additional pack of £2.50 (exc VAT) which will give you 500MB of data usage
You: No thanks. I would like to go back to my old tarrif, OR if thats not possible I would like a complimentary 2 months of the £2.50 xtra 500Mb.
You: Thanks for your help BTW
Vijay: Please stay connected
You: Ok
Vijay: We can add 2 months free of cost service pack of £2.50 500MB extra data, Is that fine ?
You: Yes thats fine, thankyou!
Vijay: Please stay connected
Vijay: As per your request I have added 2 months free of cost pack of extra 500 MB.
Vijay: this will be effective from 13/05/2013 to 13/07/2013.
You: Ok thankyou very much.
Vijay: You are welcome
Vijay: Is there anything else I can do for you today?
A copy of this chat conversation will be sent to *****@gmail.com at the end of this chat.
You: No thats all thanks
Vijay: thanks for your time

I struggled to stay polite, but it paid off and I've got some free data!
