When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :D

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free. :T

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending. :money:

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

I hope no one minds me starting off this morning.

I'm up early cos I'm back in work. REALLY don't want to go! I love my job and the guys I work with but I love pottering round the house even more! (Probably wouldn't feel like that if I was here all the time...)

    Today's plan:

    [STRIKE]
    Check online banking
    [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]
    Charge phone in work
    [/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]
Re-jig budget spreadsheet for car insurance payment (it's on my work pc)
    [/STRIKE]
    B/L/D from stores

Begin healthy eating again after piggish week off

Check garden (butternut squash finally has leaves, plus no dirty protest this morning! :D)

Only buy milk on way home (unless amazing yellow sticky offers)

Have thought of some more electricity reducing measures. Can't really do anything too extreme (well I can but OH undoes all hard work)

Think that's me. Not much interesting today. In case anyone is interested, I asked in the EE shop yesterday about those mifi dongles and I was quite impressed. If you run out of data, you can still use it to browse with no extra charge. Also, you have to physically buy the extra data whereas my current one automatically makes you pay for another 3Gb. I am going to get one as the first month is a free trial and if I can't get the coverage where I am, then it can go back :)

Morning all, and thanks to carrie for starting the thread today.
Why does it have to be Monday? I want to spend the day in the sewing room as I started another quilt yesterday and want to finish the top!

    Small thing today:
    • Breakfast from stores
    • Made packed lunch
    • Checked banking
    • Checked for surveys - just 40p to go but they always slow down at this point
    • Fed and watered the chickens
    I will also:
    • Get a lift with a colleague
    • Drink free coffee/water at work
    • Read at lunchtime to avoid the shops
    • Keep hunting for those elusive surveys and hopefully reach payout
    • Take HM jam tarts in to nibble on to stop the cappuccino doughnut temptations
    • Batch cook a savoury mince base tonight and freeze five portions
    • Have an NSD

Yesterday I made a chilli, garlic & raspberry sauce to serve with our roast goose crown (in freezer since Christmas). I used organic allotment garlic and 500g of frozen organic allotment raspberries. I looked on Mr T's website and organic raspberries are £2.50 per 125g, making £10.00 for the raspberries alone  Definitely DFW growing your own :D

    Have a good day folks

Not exactly restful!

    Morning peeps

Thanks for starting us off carrie

Perni your advice to Candy yesterday made me think about stress, I have been having a really hard time recently at work and home feeling like I've been on the edge of tears and unable to cope for a while, I was getting worried I was slipping back into depression (can you get a re-visit of post natal depression when your child is 5 years old?!). Your post made me stop and think that actually perhaps I just need to take it easy.

    So this is me today:-
    - Checked banking
    - Breakfast was a home made porridge pot
    - Packed lunch for me and DD
    - Quick dinner from stores due to netball tonight
    - Liftshare to/from netball and take my own drink
    - Collegue from other branch staying at my house tonight as we have to leave at 7am to go to Bristol - she would have to leave her house at 5.30am tomorrow morning if she didn't
    - Chillax and think about myself!

    Jx
Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!

Morning all, I am feeling quite low today, just wrote a long entry to my diary so I am not going to repeat it here, but suffice to say I really don't know what the point in all of this is sometimes. I just feel so fed up and miserable. Anyway I have a small standing order to a debt going out today, only for £10 but it is better than nothing.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

Sorry to hear that several of you are not feeling happy today. Could it be that middle of the month feeling contributing to it? Whatever the cause, hope people feel better soon.

My small list for the day.

    1. Transfered some money around. Still not quite enough of it to go around, but have paid off another couple of bills that were nagging on my brain so hoping that will help me feel less stressed.
    2. Dinner planned for tonight. Its the last pack of the bargain extra lean beef mince I got from last weeks yellow label trip. Going to do sheppards pie. Need to buy some veg to go with it though.

    Erm....think thats me.
