Oh Hilly - huge hugs. These bl00dy institutions like the NHS and SS treat us abysmally sometimes and it is nothing but bullying. Glad your DD can fight your corner - I know that my husband and DS2 /DD really stick up for me sometimes as I just cant fight the system any more. Deep breath honey xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I think some of us might get smartly banned from the site, if we report back!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Halights good deed for Mens lib,
Right a task for you lot of lady's
Us down trodden men, Feel always feel that you lady's never tell us how much you love us!
So lady's your task of the day is to tell your OH how much you love them!
:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
Don't be shy, And report back on how you get on!
I tell mine every day, too; on the days he has to go into the office, it's always the last thing I say to him before he leaves the house.:o He also calls me twice a day to check I'm OK, and it's always the last thing we say to each other at the end of the calls.:o And yes, Molly, mine takes good care of me, too; he knew I was ill when we got married (got my lupus diagnosis three days before the wedding) but neither of us knew how bad it was going to get - this certainly wasn't what he signed up for, but he never complains.:AI tell my husband how much I love him everyday - he takes really good care of me :T
So I don't mind doing as much of the "womens' work":p:p:p as I can still manage.:o Luckily, he's house-trained, as he lived on his own for twelve years before I moved here.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Islandman you're part of our little community now!:D
I don't "thank" everyone all the time, only when they've said something nice to me personally, or when they've said something I agree with, or is specially relevant to me , or would thank them for in RL, if I'm making sense (If I am, it'll be a first, lol). I do know some posters use the "thanks" button to help them keep tabs on where they've read to - but it's not compulsory to use it.;)
And hey, if we're affording you a little amusement in your day, then we've achieved something.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
CONFESSION TIME!
I have to confess that I don't "thank" as much as many of you do.
I really enjoy reading what you've all been up to. Yes, I know it's sad that an old man finds your comings and goings something that for the most part, amuses him.
So, in the same way that today's theme seems to be going along the lines of trying to reciprocate one's feelings to our respective partners, I'd like to say that although I don't offer my "thanks" as much as you'd like me to, it's nothing intentional and nothing should be read into it.
I'm here, you're there and we're sharing, that's what it's all about, ain't it?
No one has to thank anyone else for there posts,
As long as others enjoy or get something out of the post then that's good enough.
Lets face it, If you did not like the posts here then you would not read and post yourself,
So just by joining In the chat you are thanking others for what they have written.:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Afternoon all,
Nearly finished at work until Thursday - cannot wait
Two days of pottering, and maybe being a little bit spoilt tomorrow - well I know I'm being taken out for a meal anyway - one good thing about getting a year older! :rotfl:
OS wise I made some of Paul Hollywood's Pitta breads - absolutely gorgeous and would highly recommend them, I left out the onion/nigella seeds and just had them plain, scrummy
Some washing and hoovering/general tidying when I get in, determined not to waste my days off doing housework when i can be lazy! :rotfl:
Halight I do tell my OH I love him almost every day, sometimes he says it back and other times it's "I don't blame you, I'm so loveable!":p
Hugs to all who want/need xx0 -
Afternoon all
I left washing on the line this morning & it's all dried.
Glad you had good time Molly.
Hugs to Hilly & PP.
Phone call to SS made, just got to see if there is any comeback, I'm not worried, I know I did the right thing.
Yet again I've run out of paper at work & TPTB is too busy to order any.
I tell my hubby I love him all the time & he tells me.
I have a row of suncatchers along my gazebo, they are all twirling in the wind & making my living room so pretty with the patterns.
Lazy tea of gammon egg, chips & peas.
I'm going for a hunt through my fabric stash, I have an urge to do some patchwork.
Have a good evening everyone
Hugs Hester

:rotfl: If mine's done something exceptionally daft, such as pairing up his socks incorrectly f'r instance, (something he often does, I'm afraid) I tend to look exasperated and say to him "What are you like??" to which he invariably replies "Cute and cuddly".:D:D:DHalight I do tell my OH I love him almost every day, sometimes he says it back and other times it's "I don't blame you, I'm so loveable!":pIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Had EMG test today it seems that I have a lot of problems with the left hand and arm, but nothing too significant in the right, even though the consultant said I had a problem, I will have to see what she has to say on 10th June.
We took DNiece as well, who had to have another blood test, because she has another course of chemo tomorrow and she had to tell them her smallest aged 3 has chickenpox  so they have put her straight onto anti-viral tablets
I asked her if they were giving her a cold cap to protect her hair, but she has been told that she doesn't qualify for one  evidently lymphoma is not covered, so she has been to choose a wig with my DBro it is going to cost him £300 because it is a real hair wig
I can understand because she is getting married in August, she told her BF that he didn't have to stay and he was free to go if he couldn't cope, but he is standing by her, she definitely has a good one there.
halight I try to tell my DH I love him everyday, sometimes more and I always kiss him before he leaves for work he gets my fishy face pucker which makes him smile :rotfl:He is my Rock and I adore him.
If you are feeling left out here is a kissy for you
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Evening all,
Just a quick hello before i serve tea (we are late tonight). I havent had time to read the whole of the daily thread but i hope to later.
All is well with me i suppose. I took the dogs for a long walk this morning. They appreciated it more than me as i got wet on the walk home. Dogs dont seem to mind getting wet do they?
This afternoon i went to see a friend. My usual Monday routine has gone out of the window but i'll get stuck in later i think.
I keep telling myself i need to get out of the house more.
Hope all is well with you, and i'll catch up with your posts later.
Have a good evening all,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
