I've just bought a HTC Desire X from Tesco Mobile on contract (over the phone) today. I was just wondering when (if at all) the model will be upgraded to Android 4.1 (Jellybean).

Thanks didn't know that. Shows you how good Tesco's online help is, they said it wouldn't get the update.

Jellybean 4.1.2 has been out for ages, however if your phone is "provider" branded/locked (eg,Vodafone, O2, etc) then you will only get the update when your provider releases it.

Yes...but is the phone Tesco branded in any way, or is it a 'vanilla' sim free phone that has been provided?

You'll need to wait and see if it's branded then. If it's unbranded, if it's not already on the most recent version of android, it should prompt to upgrade it fairly soon after you start using it. If it's branded, then it'll depend whether Tesco have agreed for the update to be released or not.

    UPDATE:
Well I figured out how see if the device had the update, and it did. So I installed the update, and it seems to be running fine.
