I'm not surprised to hear it was a BlackBerry. I'm in exactly the same situation - replacement phone broke 16 months into contract, replaced at month 8. I had the same spiel - 'buy cheap phone' to which I said, not suitable for my needs. My phone was brand new, purchased to replace original which BlackBerry put out a statement about (Curve 9300) have entered a billing dispute as its got to the point where I'm sick of paying stupid amounts of money for phone I cannot use so have refused to pay bill. I now have iPhone 5 which my brother kindly took out for me as I refused to pay stupid amount of money (70-odd quid and a stupidly high tarriff cost) for phone that works. Orange told me they dont fix Blackberry phones, they send 'em to BlackBerry and ONLY IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE CONTRACT. I've spoken to BlackBerry myself who gave me numerous things to try, none of which worked and said they wouldnt replace the handset, referring me back to Orange who I totally silenced when they bleated BlackBerry would definitely replace it. I'm currently awaiting to see if they will cancel my remaining contract although I'm not holding my breath...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Strange! Mine was a Blackberry curve as well. It was an awful phone. Despite charging it every night the battery would be pretty much drained by the following afternoon. I'm a teacher so it's not as though I'm on my phone all the time. I was told by the member of staff in the Orange shop that they send all Blackberries away for repair. It was only because the EE guy told me it should have been free (I did mention it was a blackberry) that I'm pursuing this to see what I can get.0

Just a quick post to say that I have upgraded my phone. After a bit of grumbling to the customer services manager I managed to get £40 credited to my account. Still had to pay to upgrade but I'm happy that they have applied credit to my account.0
