Galaxy Ace 2 help

Hi,

We bought a SAMSUNG ACE 2 for our 11 year old daughter a couple of weeks ago and it is her first mobile phone. It is on a contract with LIFE MOBILE.

She gets 250mb a month and my wife let her watch streamed DOCTOR WHO!!! before I got it set up to use our house WIFI for free. So, she went over the 250mb allowance on the first day.

I am pretty inexperience re mobile 'phones really, so have a couple of questions that I would like to ask, if that is ok?

1/ Now that she has gone over the monthly allowance, it looks like we are getting charged £1.00 for each day until the end of the month, when presumably it will reset to 250MB. If she doesn't use the 'phone for anything other than texting and talking, will this £1.00 per day stop being charged?

2/ What can I do to put a control on the 'phone to stop her using it before she gets to the 250MB allowance next month? Basically, can it be set up so that it will only ever connect to WIFI and not to whatever it is that eats up the 250MB. Then, surely she would never come close to using the 250MB and I wouldn't have to worry about it? I have had a look at the settings, but I can't see anything that would do this. To be honest, I am not entirely sure that I am making sense!

Anyway, thanks in advance for anyone's help on this.

Duncan

Other than change the data settings so that she cannot go online I don't know what you can do.

I don't think many 11 year olds are responsible enough to control their data usage because many adults aren't.

I got my 11 year old grandson an Ace 2 last xmas when they were on offer at Tesco Mobile , 500 mins, 5000 texts and 500mb data, but made sure I capped the tariff. It was only £7.50p per month and I have had no billing issues.

I wouldn't have thought she would be charged per day if she doesn't use the mobile internet, but the way to be sure would be to contact customer services and ask. 250mb isn't a huge amount, so you will need to keep an eye on what she is using during the month (is there an life mobile app you can put on the phone so she can check?) But you will have to lay down the law to tell her to be sensible when she is not on wifi - no youtube!

And you could have a look for an app along these lines
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onavo.android.onavoid&hl=en - I haven't used one so I couldn't recommend any.
