sky have reduced my broadband speeds after be buyout

Hi

Is it just me or have anyone else noticed the slowdown in speed?

I'm really annoyed because I'm on the pro plan and I pay a premium at £27 a month for broadband. Now I'm getting the same speeds as I was getting when I was on the legacy plan with o2 paying £12 a month.

I am really annoyed and I'm locked into a contract with this !!!!!!!s for 12 months. I would like to know two things

1) has anyone else who was on be noticed a drop in speeds?

2) Can I do anything? Can I change providers on the grounds that my speeds have been throttled?

There can be no connection here, because you are still on the 02 network-the switch to Sky's LLU network won't even begin until the autumn. And Sky don't practice traffic management anyway.
Didn't you ask for the 12m free broadband though?

Same speed on BE as pre the buyout .
It would be as its not yet Sky service only ownership .

    1) I'm with Be and my speed is the same.
    2) Have you called Be about the speed drop? if yes, what have they said?
Also, have you called them and said you want to leave? Did they offer you half-price broadband for 12 months?

    Hi Guys

I don't trust this sky company and did panic and jump to conclusions before investigating this further.

I had my phone line connected to the master test socket (because I was having problems earlier).

I switched it back to the main, changed broadband profile and turned the router off and put it back on again and I have had my speed restored.

    Hi

    That's good news.

Have you called about the 12 months half-price broadband? (Once my 12 month's has expired, I'm moving to Plusnet Fibre.)

I'm not in fibre area, but will jump on immediately when I get the chance. I did notice a BT street "cabinet" around half a mile away from me with a sticker on saying "this is a fibre broadband area".

but it doesn't serve mine, but I'm hopeful that a fibre installation will be built close enough to me soon.

I doubt I'll be given a half price bb because my contract is set at £27 a month. I have 9 months left so that would be £27 x 9 if I leave. I was hoping that a reduction in service and changover would allow me to move to a different provider.

But I'm reluctantly agreed to stick with be thanks to a resumption in service.

    Hi

My contract was £18.26 but I now pay £9.13 a month for unlimited broadband.

You should call Be, the option is I want to leave/am thinking of leaving and see what they say. Why pay more than you have to?

I was on the 12 month half price offer and they have let me break my contract with no penalties. It seems that with the Sky takeover, they are not holding people to their contracts. (I do have the no fees to pay in writing). Off to Plusnet Fibre.
