Little known EE Roaming plans for no additional cost

I think the roaming plans are great, especially the data options. Try getting 100MB a day for £2 in the USA with any other operator. Also 1GB for £25...I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0

I went to New York in July and also had this roaming deal. Also bought the 1GB data so no sim swapping
Was great knowing it was a fixed price and i can call or text all i want for free.
Dunno how they manage that as Vodafone charge £3 a day when you use within EU, this is £5 a MONTH0 -
Hi guys,
I'm a new joiner to EE (from Vodafone) and I'm on a £46 per month plan (unltd mins/texts) and 10GB data.
I was with Vodafone for a long time and was well-used to their £3 per day Eurotraveller which I loved!!!!
Here's the problem ... EE have TOTALLY confused me through their website/150/Facebook with the situation re upgrading to the roaming plan for £5 per month. The guy on the phone told me that (a) it would be permanent (b) my roaming will be reduced to 1GB per month.
Here's my question (I'm really sorry if this seems naive), can I (A) Upgrade to the plan and then downgrade to my original plan when I get back? (B) Use my unlimited minutes and texts to call the UK or other countries on the list? (C) I assume all my 10GB of data while NOT be affected BUT can only be used in the UK and any data used abroad will have to be purchased?
PHEW - you've need to be a solicitor to keep up with this
Thanks
Rob

****EE confirms MUST drop down to 1GB per month for the roaming plan to be attached to this tariff!
Anyone know differently??????0 -
You don't need to change any settings; even the APN is usually read automatically from the SIM card. You can simply put a voicemail greeting on your UK mobile number telling callers which number you can be reached on.Which is a ballache when you need to swap sims every 5 mins when you want to go online - changing settings etc - loss of incoming calls when other sim in etc.
No, they don't require verification again. They (e.g. WhatsApp and Viber) invite you to register with the new number in case it's a permanent change of number. Obviously if you are temporarily switching SIM cards, you can ignore this invitation.I have to agree, many of the apps require verification again when switching Sim cards so sim-swap is too much hassle for me.
Exactly. $3/day for unlimited data (200MB at 4G speeds) on T-Mobile. Otherwise if you're using less than 50MB per day, it's cheaper to pay $0.06/MB with a Lycamobile SIM card.Airvoice Wireless & T-Mobile0 -
Hi
I don't think this is possible anymore. I am on a 4GB extra plan for £37.99 and I have seen that for £37.99 same price i can get 10GB extra plan that also includes roaming for S5 but the phone is £10 more expensive.
I have tried to change to this but was told you cant move sideways i.e remain at the same monthly tariff fee, but that it would cost be £5 extra.0
