    Pleased to hear you've received an offer Dan-Dan and hope things all work out for you :)

    Exchanging contact details with your buyer can have both advantages and disadvantages - this has happened the last couple of times we've sold. Last time (2011) our buyers gave us their mobile numbers & email address on their second viewing shortly after we'd accepted their offer and I guess we then felt obliged to give ours in return.

    It was handy when a few issues cropped up - for example, when their surveyor made some major errors and when (days before exchange) a fire destroyed the mortgage offer etc of another link in the chain - and we were able to talk things through without going through a middleman.

    OTOH, they did pester us with somewhat minor queries, that whilst our EA would have been unable to help, did eventually begin to bug us towards the end of the process. They even continued to text for a while after completion had happened, to the extent we considered changing numbers :o

    Our last sale would have fallen through, right at exchange, if we hadn't spoken directly to our buyer. Our agent had already given up and told us it was all off.

    And our last purchase might well have fallen through, too, if we hadn't been "pally" enough with the vendors to persuade them to wait when there were problems with our sale.

    You just need to be sensible about it.
