Where do you get your big plastic barrels from? Are these the big blue tubs that some companies use? I ask, because I am trying to source a supply of these from companies in our area for use on our allotment. However, I never know which companies use them. Any ideas?

There's a big catering company/bakers near us that gets jam delivered in them. You could try one of them and then you know there's been no nasty chemicals in the barrel too.
That's a lot of victoria sponges in each barrel! All I seem to hear is blah blah blah!0 -

Severn Trent are offering me a 'subsidised' 190 ltr butt at £35 delivered. How does this compare with the shops? Is it not going to take a fairly long time for this to pay for itself in water savings?
We have a similar thread to this already, so I'll merge the two to keep all the replies together.

Maybe its just me, but a collapsable water butt seems a silly idea to me, just how strong would that be the first time you knocked into it with a wheelbarrow?
Or a kid tried to lift himself up on the side.
1 litre of water weighs 1kg, thats 200 kgs of water held up by a weak collapsable wall.
Maybe I'm just too careful.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
