Pricing up a Patio

As we talking about Patios. Can you just lay a patio on top of a concrete path? It's got loads of joins etc and looks very bad so would like to patio it.
Also regarding the DPC level. My house is 1900's so expect that not to have one. My extension is around 1950 where would this be? (about 2 bricks up etc)0
