Disappointed at Plusnet :(

I signed up to a 2 year contract with Plusnet for Business Broadband.
The sales person explained over the phone that there are 3 levels, 10GB a month, 50GB and unlimited and I could simply switch to which was best for my needs anytime.
I started with the unlimited, and after a few months I looked at my on-line account and noticed my usage had been around the 35GB mark, so I downgraded to the 50GB limit cheaper option.
I didn't realise this started a new 2 year contract! I feel cheated by this and surprised I hadn't noticed anywhere that this was going to be the case.
I have two broadband suppliers, guess which one will now be cancelled. I also will not consider Plusnet for my home as I was previously doing.
Please be warned about things like this. Has anyone else come across this when sales people say things like “You can switch anytime!” but never tell you it starts a new contract!!

This in their ts and cs covers them - 4.5 If the Customer changes service to another Plusnet Business Broadband service, there will be no charge however the Customer may be subject to starting a new contract.
However, I agree that not being totally upfront when advising what was available is a bit naughty.
A lesson learned, no doubt, to always read the ts and cs before committing.0 -
I dispute this. Every time I changed packages and have done so over serveral years it was anyways made clear the contract would reextended and get emails confirming this. It says this on the page when you confirm your order details online. However if you just skip reading the terms and conditions beforw ticking the box then its your own fault.0
