in Credit cards
I just applied for a POst Office cerdit card online and they said they couldnt make a decision and would write to me within 5 days.
I dont understand, why cant they tell me right away? I live with my parents, work part-time and earn around £11k a year. I have a platinum visa card and a debit card already....
Any comments/suggestions? Is this common practice?

If its that long i'd say you'll probably just be sent the card now, if they're turning you down you ususally get a letter saying so within a week.0

There may be something on your credit report that doesn't fit their profile.
This doesn't mean there is anything wrong on your report it might just mean that you don't exactly fit their idea of an ideal customer (and their ideal customer might be one that manages their account badly and pays lots of interest).
It probably means that a computer cannot make a decision and hence it's been referred to a human being for them to look into.
This takes a few days because that person (or team) have other things to do as well as yours. Is this common practice?
It happens sometimes but I wouldn't think it necessarily indicates a problem.
You might wish to check your credit reports.
You can get all 3 for free on various trials (unless you've done them before) or for £2 each.
Also make sure you are on the electoral role.0 -

I would also say with an income of £11k and already have a credit card it might depend on how much credit you have available already? I think a lot of CC companies have grown very careful recently...DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
