    Big advantage of water based is that it doesn't smell so bad, and dries in about 1 hour. Much easier with kids! (you can also wash hands etc in warm water to clean)

    We've just used satinwood throughout our new house and it works wonders. Easy to apply (albeit it drips a bit, but just keep a cloth handy) and doesn't need many coats (we bought a one coat which worked in 99% of cases).
