Please dont go Squills. I know some people were offended. Personally I wasnt, but that is just me. People deal with things in different ways. Sometimes the easiest way for some people to deal with things that would ordinerilly upset them is to humourize them, which is what I feel you did when posting.
One of my friends is an undertaker. I would not even dare post some of the things he says here, but he says its the best way he can find to deal with the job.
Just my two pence worth, and I hope it didnt offend anyone. Can we all just put this behind us now please?“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Not on a nice sunny day like this. Going out for a nice meal with the family this afternoon.fairclaire wrote: »Makes me sad that there's upset here today. I understand it, but it still makes me
Some people see the world alot differently to others and are just wired up to be practical rather than emotional. It can be upsetting, but it can't be helped.
One of my favourite quotes:
“Walk a mile in my shoes, see what I see, hear what I hear, feel what I feel, THEN maybe you will understand why I do what I do. Until then, don’t judge me”

I agree, I know I have been encouraging Squills to think carefully about how his wife is feeling right now but I also understand how he might be feeling. My brother and I told some awful jokes and used some terrible gallows humour right up to when my mum passed and between us it worked, got us through it.
We have to remember Squills wasn't commenting on our situations and try not to take it personally about our situations.
Women (me included) go on about men not sharing their feelings enough and when they do we jump on them them and not in a good way lol.
I don't think anyone was in the wrong, fence sticking up my arris, so we should agree that we all think differently about things and just get along.

Well said 3dogs i used to sign in to read your diary and posts with pride . I dont know how you coped sometimes and you are one brave lady and i admire you for that. :A
I still think of Alan and like to know score of his beloved Sunderland and wonder what he would think of the new manager.
I love the way you still think of him and his beloved Black Cats hun. He would have been relieved to see that they managed once again to stay in the Premiership though he accepted their limitations and that they would normally be bottom half Prem/top half Ch'ship. I really am not too sure what he would have made of Di Canio, with his chequered history, but he wouldn't have doubted his commitment that's for suresquilliondollarbaby wrote: »3Dogs you are the absolute LAST person I would ever want to offend (I remember stuff from savvy days lol) so my apologies once more. If you could understand it as gallows humour maybe? Plus I am genuinely more matter of fact than most of you probably.squilliondollarbaby wrote: »Right I'm off away for another year then, same as last time.

Thanks for the apology Squills, which I accept. I just hope that you can see how upsetting talk like that was for some people and can moderate how you post to accommodate that view
I was concerned when you first came on the thread and started posting, then accepted you, as it were, but have got concerned again over the past few days. I certainly wouldn't want for you to stop posting petal ..... for one thing, we do want to know how your MiL gets on, but for another, you do bring deals to the table, so to speak. We all have different ways of dealing with things, and yours is different to mine and some others, but we can't all be the same or it would be a sad old world, wouldn't it?The Elite Thread needs a wide variety of people posting on it to keep it fresh and interesting, so do not go

Having said that FC, I am the practical one ..... best getting on with dealing with things, with my AD's dealing with the emotional sidedavemorton wrote: »Please dont go Squills.
