Call from Lloydstsb account manager

I got home yesterday to find a message on my answering machine from an account manager at Lloydstsb advising i call them. He went on to say it was nothing to worry about but he needed to speak to me. I hasten to add this is not my branch he was calling from and my branch is about 200 miles away.
Tried to call him on his mobile again today but went into voicemail.
I know it was definately a genuine call but any ideas what could this be. Could it be just a sales call or asking to come into a review.
We have lived here for about 11 years and have never received calls only from our own branch.

It is most likely to be a sales call.
Lloyds have from time to time called me and left the same type of message.0 -
Agree - it's probably marketing. When they do get in touch you can ask to be removed from marketing by phone/email/in branch and they should put notes on your file.
If their systems suspected fraud on your account you'd have had a call from their robot :rotfl: that confirms your ID and asks you to go through recent transactions to say whether or not you recognise them.0 -
definately nothing to be worried about. Im sure the manager would be try to inform you that you're due for an account review - probably go through usual stuff - savings accounts, save you money on insurance etc...0

Have you had, or are you imminently expecting, a larger sum of money into your account? They seem to love such transactions as an excuse for calling you....pure sales call.0

If they told you not to worry, forget about it. Recently I got a call soon after I visited a new branch (one that I hadn't been to before), and then another from another new branch. Apparently one of them had trouble getting a hold of me (blocked number) and I ended up receiving a letter asking me to visit them in person.
The beast is obviously hungry.0 -
The letter "trick" is one of their favourites. Writing to you with nothing specific, just saying they'd been unable to contact you, and would you please come into Branch. It's all the same old reason - - sales.0

Not always a bad thing though. Sure if you're on this website chances are you probably wouldn't benefit from a review. Might be worth a call back just to see what it's about.
But I've done "reviews" off of "sales calls" and remember making a customer about £3600 in about 40 minutes LOL.0 -

I did call him back but only getting his answerphone. I left a message saying I hope his call is important bearing in mind its costing me 30p a minutes to ring his mobile. Not heard from him since.
Also I do not know why he is phoning us as we do not even bank at his branch.0 -

Now that's cheeky, bet they did not even call first either. Or if they did they never left a message on voicemail0 -
You are right, there were certainly no voicemails left. And with almost 100% certainty, they never tried calling since neither they nor any unknown number appeared on the callers list around the time of the letters. Whenever I get one of these, it goes straight into the shredder.0
