hi all
We have a samsung galaxy tab 2 since christmas.
Sent back to samsung last month as had no power and they said it could be the battery or the charger. So no work was carried out.
We have used a different charger ( samsung tab from my little boys ) and still no power.
How do i go about checking the actual battery. If so , i.e. if we needed a new battery where would i purchase it from??
As it is only 5 months old would you guys send it back to samsung again.
It was a 3 week wait last time , and this is something I could do without.
Any help would be great
Thanks

Vendor was responsible not Samsung in the first instance .
Battery can be replaced but needs tab dismantling and that would void warranty . Ifixit.com may have instructions .
I would use a charger that works and put the tab on charge for six hours .
Test then if it powers up and how long it takes to drain the battery .
Send back no i would try to find a more local Samsung service centre .

your contract is with the vendor. send it back to them explaining the difficulties and ask them to either fix it or replace it. you're within the warranty period so there should not even be a debate.
DON'T take it to pieces. You'll ruin any chances of you negotiating with the vendor because you'll have voided the warranty. You should be using the charger supplied with the original device. If this doesn't work doesn't charge up properly or if the battery isn't holding charge it's all irrelevant. It's within warranty, it's up to the vendor to sort it.
hope this helps0 -
Another for vendor. They sold you a dud.0

The vendor will send it back to Samsung or find its already been in for repair .

I got one for my son at Xmas and we had the same problem.
You must use the charger that came with the Tab as it is 1.5A, which is required to power it when completely drained.
I was plugging in the charger cable and it was flash up the battery charge symbol, then nothing - it was not charging.
After numerous attempts, leaving it plugged in overnight, removing and reinserting the cable, it didn't seem to be working. Then one night I left it in and it did indeed charge. I've not had the problem since, but ensure I now get it charging once it reaches 10%, to avoid the full discharge trouble again.
Hope this helps, just keep trying with the correct 1.5A chargerFriendly greeting!0 -
hi all
many thanks for your comments.
We purchased it from littlewoods and when I rang 4 weeks ago they just gave me samsung direct number for me to arrange to send back to them and see what the problem was
3 weeks later still happening.
power is on, daughter will touch the screen, it will make the sound of pressing an icon but nothing on the screen
I personally don,t want to pull apart as am not good with that kind of thing.
Also, we have charged this for a whole day yesterday.
how can I tell I have charged the tab with a 1.5 a charger??:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

well funny enough.... when I sent it back to samsung 4 weeks ago they actually said they had mountains of complaints with the same batch number....
when we had it back to us they didnt repair it and said to cheque the battery and the charger?? I gather samsung would not change this. Are we in our rights to demand they change the battery??:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

Seems not relevant, but the charger plug states the ampage on a small sticker on it, plus voltage and other info.
I would arrange for a replacement through your statutory rights (check out SADFART on this website!)

Hi raq,
We're sorry to hear that you have been experiencing issues with your item.
We would need to look at your account before we could advise any further. If you would like to email Help@Littlewoods.co.uk and we'd be happy to look into it for you.
Please note; we would also advise not to take apart the phone as this will void your warranty.
Many Thanks
Lizzie
