please help vodafone default

Hi everyone,

Was hoping for some help regarding my credit report and old Vodafone account. I recently came across noddle and had a look at my credit report. In 2007 I had a contract with Vodafone but unfortunately fell on hard times in 2008 and went into arrears. Subsequently the debt was passed onto a debt collection company and I settled up with them in Nov 2008. As far as I'm concerned thats me done with Vodafone in November 2008. But my credit report suggests that in December 2008 up until March 2009 I'm still in default surely that's not correct. I have since contacted noddle who advised I speak to Vodafone after several emails ( waste of time and extremely unhelpful when they actually bother to reply) and phone calls again useless as the advisor I spoke to insisted it was the debt collection agency who had done this to my credit report and insisted I speak to them and guess what when I spoke to them just like I thought its nothing to do with them. Anyways finally was told to write in. So in a clear letter I explained my problem and requested for the defaults in December 2008 upto March 2009 removed also sent a copy of the debt collection letter showing payment. Today I received a letter from Vodafone stating that my credit report is correct. But how I paid them in November and in the letter they sent they confirm my "credit report was updated on 26th November 2008 to show default satisfied and account closed with zero balance outstanding." whats December to March got to do with it. Please someone help!!!! Surely they are wrong in doing this and if so what do I do?????

I may be wrong but i thought the default stays on your file for about 6yrs

It don't just go away because you paid the debt

You still defaulted on your payments at the time i may be wrong and if i am someone will put me right on here.

I'm not saying I shouldn't be in default of course I accept that but only for the months that I was actually in arrears. I paid up in November 2008 but why does my credit file say I'm in default till march 2009. Surely that is not correct I think you above must have misunderstood just as Vodafone has done. Please someone help and do I make sense lol??????

Something similar happened to me when I forgot to pay the last installment on my Burtons card. I then moved away without informing them because I though I'd paid it off. They eventually caught up with me a year later and I paid the outstanding £40.00. However, the debt was on until 6 months after I'd paid it off. I contacted the 'Experian' and 'Equifax' credit reference agencies and sent them proof of when the debt was paid. They both adjusted my credit file to show the amendment.

Just do what I did and write a letter to the credit reference agencies. You'll be surprised how easy it is.
It's only rock 'n' roll, but I like it.
