  • Worked fine for me in FF.

Also the answer is £5,760 as that's what you can save per financial year which is what the question asks.£11,520 is the annual allowance.

    Hi,I'm confused here:o

The question shows here as :

What is the maximum annual ISA allowance this financial year (2013/2014)?

Isn't the answer in post #1 correct plus the source link states the same?

  • You can save £5,760 in the 2013/14 tax year.

You can save up to £5,760 of your £11,520 annual ISA allowance

    £11,520 is the annual amount.

Trust me you can only save £5.760 in an ISA per tax year! Tax year and annual year are different things.
  • The question doesn't ask for annual year it asks for financial year!

We need Martin Lewis in here ;)

Jen it doesn't ask how much can you save?
It just asks what the annual allowance is or are you getting a different question?
    total wins 2013 £5500 2014 £7500 2015 £23,900 2016 £10,650 2017 £13,040 2018 £10,620 2019 £10,115 2020 £3970.00

    I'm still confused :-)

    eg: http://www.nationwide.co.uk/isas/isas-explained/default.htm

    What is the ISA limit?

Each tax year you have an ISA allowance, for tax year 2013/2014 (6 April 2013 until 5 April 2014) your allowance is £11,520. You can save up to £5,760 in a cash ISA with the remainder in a stocks and shares ISA, or, you can invest your full allowance in a stocks and shares ISA.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa

For the current 2013-14 tax year, the annual ISA allowance is £11,520, but only £5,760 of that may be used for a cash ISA.
  • The financial year runs from April To April. say I put in £5,760 in March this year, I can't put any in again til after the dealine in which case I could put in another £5760 but I won't be able to put in anything more til next April. So I've put in £11520 in one year but only £5760 in the financial year.
  • Oh OK maybe I do have it wrong then sorry :(
