Tesco Customer porting mobile number

I have been with Tesco for years. I recently got a new handset due to my contract expiring, a new deal if you like. With it came a new number which I don't require. I got my number ported over, replacing the new handset number with my existing mobile number. I also got a new micro SIM with Iphone 4S, maybe/probably irrelevant.

I now text and ring both my daughters - all fine, 'Dad' appears on their handset as it should.
I now text and ring my wife - not fine, The new (unused, redundant) number appears on her handset.

Any idea why? Can't get Tesco chat online in work so posting here, thanks.

I think you need to experiment a little more with incoming texts and incoming/outgoing calls.

Also, "ported" is the term used for moving your number between networks. Was it an internal transfer within Tesco Mobile?

Yes, it was an internal transfer within Tesco mobile. Transfer took place at tail end of last week so should all be in place by now?

Migration is the term for a same network transfer, porting is only required when the number is passed on to a different network.

As to your problem - are all the family numbers also on Tesco/Telefonica O2 or is your wife on a different one?

All 4 of us are on Tesco.

Strangely, my wife can reply directly to my texts which arrive carrying the incorrect number and they reach me, but she cannot obviously phone that number, she can only phone my transferred number, as you would expect. Is it maybe just a display problem? (Although that wouldn't explain why my kids have no problems).

Thx for replies, keep them coming, much appreciated.

Edit: Just asked wife to send a txt from an old thread before my number transfer and got that too.
