When sending tracked goods, the email address goes in the myhermes site if you want. They get an extra email at the start as soon as the collection is booked that way, plus loads of notice that I changed the service from Royal Mail... Soolin,

If that is the only reason then I'm happy to carry on adding the tracking details. I trust buyers generally so don't really need to protect myself against them and on balance I think the positive aspects of adding tracking outweigh the negative asperctsI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Whilst I wouldn't leave negative feedback for this, I would certainly not be happy. How do I know the courier is not going to sell my address to companies who will then spam me? Is it even legal are you allowed to give out someones email address without their permission (not blaming the sellers for this - I put the blame on the courier for asking for it without advising their customer (the seller) the regulations regarding this)0 -
Ive stopped adding tracking and the number of claims for recorded items not received as dropped to zero.
I truly think that while browsing their account - some buyers click on the tracking of items recieved - and see it has not tracked, or says left on porch etc. Its very tempting to then claim.
I add the tracking to my ebay (using add a note) - and no-longer provide it to the buyer, unless asked.
Most buyers chuck the packaging away, as soon as they get the item - and will never know that the item failed to track.
Also, when a i book a courier - if i add the tacking straight away - it marks it as dispatched. But it hasn't been dispactched. So using add a note instead, stops they buyer getting false info from Ebay.0
