TP-Link router problem

A couple of months ago, I bought a new router (a TP-Link TD-W8968). It's been working like a charm until yesterday when internet speed suddenly seemed to drop significantly to the point where it's almost impossible to open any webpages (I do get some connection though). I know it's not a problem with the ISP since it works perfectly fine when I switch back to my old router. Any ideas what the issue might be? Could it simply be a faulty router and if so, is there any way to verify this before I contact the seller (Amazon).
Edit: I've fiddled around with it some more and I now believe it's an ISP issue after all.

Sometimes the kind of problem you report is related to DNS (the process by which an address such as www.bbc.co.uk is translated to 212.58.246.92 ).
You can set the DNS in your router to use Open DNS ( www.opendns.com ) and see if that helps.
An alternative is Google's DNS

I've got the same router and it has frozen up on me once in the couple months since using it, rebooting cured it.
Other than that one glitch it's been rock solid and giving better results on my ADSL speeds than my previous Netgear and Thomson routers.
They do run a bit warm so I wonder if that can cause problesm, I prop mine up so it gets better air circulation underneath it.
