BTW thanks for the advice jumperjohn, I 100% agree with you property is the best place to invest. I have had a nice time driving nice cars, but am keen to start putting more of my money into property now.
Have been able to drive some lovely brand new cars this year including the New Jeep Cherokee, Mercedes E Class, CLA, A Class & CLS AMG, Volvo V60 & XC60R, and a Cadillac ATS in America...After a while you realise they are all just a vehicle to get from A to B and as long as it's relatively new and premium they all do the same job. Whatever car it is you will eventually become bored of it, which is why I like 2 year lease deals, and hiring cars abroad.0 -

Yeah, but it's not an investment, is it? Investments result in assets...0 -

Hmm, I haven't. If I could get over their crushing dull-ness I'd be tempted. And that's coming from someone who drives a bloody Volvo.0 -

Eh?
What job can't a non-"new and premium" car do?
I dunno, perhaps I have better things to worry about than driving a "new and premium" car.
The statement is a matter of opinion, what other people think. To the Germans a Mercedes is a Taxi you get from the airport. In South Africa a "new" car is anything that doesn't have bullet holes.
My life doesn't revolve around what other people think of me, I believe that what I'm capable of and what I can achieve, is more important than talk and bling.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Non-premium cars can't make the OP feel 'manly'.

Still stand by this comment. I know having a nice car wasn't the only reason I was able to have some success with business and build up some assets but it has definitely helped.
I know it's stupid but having a nice car somehow helps me to feel that little but more confident in general day to day life, I feel good when I step into the car in the morning, I enjoy my ride to work and feel good when I get into the office.
I think that extra bit of confidence has been useful in the role I've worked in and some important clients have appreciated being picked up in a nice comfortable car. I know it's not everything in life and it's completely possible to get by driving something basic (I had a Vauxhall corsa for over a year while I got the business started), but once the lease finishes on the BMW in August, I do plan to get another premium car, just not sure which one yet. The BMW has been incredible by the way, very comfortable, realiable, economical and fun to drive. Not bad at all for around £300pm0 -

A caravanners dream towcarIts a Volvo so a caravans friend. Its got AWD. So no issues with muddy fields.
Spotted a nice one recently, But the fuel bills maybe too much these days. They claim 27mpg. To me thats probably aroung 15 - 18 in reality.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Mm, I did almost buy an S80 T6 Executive last year just for long trips. Bloody lovely it was, but I decided against the fuel bills. Looking at the price of petrol now, I wish I had bought it.
Still, the V70 (2.4D5) does everything I want, except go fast; and I have other toys for that.0
