"Manly" cars. How quaint. And by "quaint", I mean "ridiculous concept".
How would you feel if your wife wanted a car you considered "manly"?

How the hell can a C220 AMG be £45 grand new?!0

So instead of owning a nice Merc, you will pay £3600 to rent a car for 1 year and be left with nothing.
And what if you run into financial difficulties in 1 year? With the Merc you could have sold it and get some money back...
Anyway, your money. But for me sounds like a mistake.0 -
45k for a C class, really?!
18k for 2 years use of that?
Don't get it.
Buy a car for a couple grand, cut your monthly outgoings if you're borrowing more for a bigger mortgage.0 -
good choice on the BMW, they are the best cars in the world bar none. I love the feeling of roaring past other cars and bullying them out of the way.0

Get a 330/530d sport, remap it and it'll be quicker and more fun than any you posted up, and still do 40+mpg.0

Ignorance is bliss, nice go at trolling though!
On a serious note buying a car is one of the least sensible investments to make so with that in mind if you were to buy a car then it’s best to buy something you would really enjoy driving and give your family the most benefit. If you value driving then buying a banger or a car for £2000, for example, can be false economy because you will regret it and trade the £2000 car in and get £500 for it just to buy something you wanted in the first place.
The Mercedes you leased looks like a pretty bad deal, trawl through this link and you’ll see some of the latest deals that people have found.
I’ve been in the same situation, bought lots of cars with my head and as they really weren’t the cars for me I eventually bought the car I wanted.
Look at leasing, PCP, HP, bank loans and cash. It can bebetter for you to lease depending how often you change cars.
Property, usually, is always the best place to invest cash but if you’re happy where you are then buy a car, if you want to move then save the cash and drive keep the car you already have.

The Mercedes I leased was a terrible deal! I was young and foolish...
The BMW on the other hand has been wonderful. It costs half the monthly payments and being able to lease via the business, save on VAT, and have all servicing and fuel paid by the company has helped a lot.
It has also complemented my work significantly and I know this sounds silly but having a lovely new car helps with confidence and I have had a lot of pleasure from it. It has also made the numerous journeys to airports and clients offices a lot more enjoyable. At £300 PM I stand by the statement that it has been a good investment, however I am fully aware that my views on investment and wealth vs happiness are not always shared by the majority of people in this forum.. Will post another pic shortly.....0 -
