3 mobile deposit repayment

Hi all
Just wondered if anyone has any experience with a deposit on a 3 contract.
I signed up to an iPhone contract at the beginning of the year (my first contract), which they sold to me on the provision I paid a 50% phone deposit (£250). They assured me, and later confirmed to me in the Ts and Cs, that I'd get this back after 6 successive months paid on time and in full. Fair enough, my credit history was very limited at the time so no biggy.
Has anyone had any past experience with this? What I want to know is - after 6 months, do they send me a cheque automatically, or do they make it difficult with me having to vouch for myself and prove payment of the deposit and whatnot.
I've still got the receipt with my deposit for this exact reason. Wasn't hugely keen on paying out such a large sum of money on a deposit, but as long as I get it back I'll be happy enough.
Cheers all
