Well folks, an update. I don't like phoning call centres, but realised this was the only way to resolve my problem; and I was pleasantly surprised.

It did take a while to get through to someone, but when I got through the agent wsa very helpful, he confirmed that I should have had the rebate, and said he'd raise an official complaint. Kept me holding a bit longer, for which he apologised and then said he'd refund the cost of the phone call, which as I was using a landline was only about 40p, so he rounded to a pound. Finally he said he'd give me an extra 10 pounds as compensation, so all in all it was certainly worth making the call; and I now have the confidence to transfer from another card whilst the offer is still on.

My first transfer was on 2nd April followed by another on 4th.

Two statements (second today) later nothing refunded.

You assume that these things will just happen, but your post has reassured me that sometimes they don't.

Didn't want to seem impatient, but I'll give them a call in view of your post.
