Lloyds TSB 21 month 0% balance - transfer fee

Hi all

I got this credit card on MSE recommendation back at the start of April. I was accepted as was the balance transfer, and the 3% fee was charged.

Part of the deal was that the charge was only 1.5% - this is meant to be achieved by refunding half of the fee "Within 30 days of the qualifying BT transfer date".

The transfer went through on the 5th April, so by my calendar, 30 days are up, but no sign of this refund.

Is this normal? Is the 30 days actually 30 banking days ? I have another card I want to transfer from, but if they're not going to keep their end of the bargain, I shall take out another card for this!!

Regards
TT

Why don't you phone them and ask if there is an issue?

Of course both these questions can only be accurately answered by LTSB, who are a freephone/local rate call away.

That said, maybe you won't see the credit until your statement is produced, ie it won't appear on your 'recent transactions' list? After all, they do say...

"Your refund will show on one of your next two statements as ‘50% balance transfer fee refund."
  • Thanks for advice folks. I will give them a ring when I get chance.

Interested to get other people's opinions too.

JonesMUFC, it was 1400. Fee of 42.

Half of my fee was refunded 3 days after my transfer went through. This was in March.

Was there a minimum you had to transfer to get the refund?
I do hope it was not £1500:eek:

I applied for one of these cards last night, and was successful albeit with a lowish credit limit (nearly enough for my needs though), higher apr (not intending to pay interest) and only 13 months (should be nearly paid off by then).

Balance transfers can be anything over £100 and there is no mention of any exclusions other than dates regarding the 1.5% rebate.

My only concern is that i don't recall the confirmation page mentioning the rebate, and the e-mail doesn't mention BT fees at all. Is it possible that not all applicants get the rebate? The website certainly doesn't read like that.

Should be all applicants, you'll just have to call them

I'll wait until i get the card and paperwork. Wouldn't have thought anything about it, if it hadn't been a possible explanation for OPs situation
