Sky want money for no service.

Options
Had an email today from bpo collections asking for 201.95. that i am supposed to owe sky
I called sky to find out why. I have been told its for cancelling my contract early. When we moved to our new flat i asked to have Sky transfered, the engineer turned up and told me he can't fit a dish on a suitable wall as the only place he can pick up the satellite is a communial wall and the local authority wont allow that. I informed sky and they said the account will be closed. Now this. Sky have now told me my account was supposed to be credited to cancel this debt but it wasn't activated and now i have to resubmit my reasons for cancelling the account and in the meantime they can't call off the debt collectors. Talk about left and right hands.

    Oh dear.

There should be notes on the system back from when it was cancelled. Phone them up, give them the month it all happened, and if they can verify it from the notes there shouldn't be any additional requirements for you to send anything in since it's their mistake.

Then once it's been cleared the relevant paperwork should get forwarded to the debt agency within 7 days.

Sky have told me i was tied into a 12 month contract whether they could supply a service or not but in their Magnanimity have decided to refund me £96, whoopie doo i will still have to give Rupert Murdoch over£100 for nothing. He can swivel.

Phoned Sky up but it will take a while as it was in 2010 and will have to manually access the files.

If you agreed to the twelve month contract, then you are liable for the outstanding payment. It is not their fault that they could not continue to provide service.

    Okay.

    1) A moving home does not put you into a 12 month contract, apart from phone and BB, but there were no early termination charges for phone and BB back then.

    2) Notes are available as far back as 2005, so it would take a maximum or 5 minutes to find ones from 2010.

Also been informed its from the telephone service that was left in service at my old address after moving even though i had ordered a home move, which they responded to by sending out an engineer. The next tenants were using the phone for 3 months at my expense even though Sky knew i had moved . I suppose thats my fault too eh

If you work for Sky maybe you can talk to the person i have been onto, notes are available but as its 3 years old he has to go through them all and report it to his supervisor.

Since the agent's credit limit is 65, anything higher would need to go through to a manager.

If you speak to Blackburn, he works for Sky :)

That user hasn't logged on since April when he was informed he needed MSE permission to post as a Sky representative.
