Bart,

That's a lovely compassionate post and in case anybody was still under the illusion that life is fair then that's just another reason that demonstrates why it certainly is not.

The truth is that DWBID will be able to revise his/her budget and with some work and "bart ering" should be able to reduce the IPA or better still not have to pay anything at all.

I don't have a cynical world view but I do believe that you have to stand up for yourself otherwise bureaucracies and big organisations will just walk all over people and grind them into the sh1te.

I think you deserve to luxuriate a little Bart, and then again when DWBID gets the result he/she deserves.

Very thoughful of you to consider DWBID Blind...I agree the inconsistencies in the SoA's leave alot to be desired and DWBID with more worry and another problem to sort out. I checked my SoA and can see I was allowed things that DWBID has been refused. Hopefully we can help right a wrong.

my OR interview went exactly like yours ... I couldn't understand why they didn't even look at my SOA , no questions NOTHING ... but I was told that it would be passed onto someone else to do the maths ...so I'm guessing the OR I saw was just to find out why I got in debt and then someone sorts the money side out ...fingers crossed ..just wish i knew how long it may take ...

It was the same for us this morning when we had the OR interview. We were prepared for everything and then the only thing she asked was how we got into all the debt. I was really concerned as we had some flights and hotels on our last credit card statements but there was no mention of it.
We can't repay anythign at the moment anyway, as I am the only one working and my husband is unemployed. She only said if our situation will change we have to notify her of course.

Just a thought, but DWBID's outgoings are higher than income. Maybe that's why the OR has been a bit Sh1tty. He must have smelled a rat somewhere

Perhaps it had something to do with the holiday DWBID mentioned on her thread. If the OR saw payment for the holiday then he would possibly expect there to be some surplus cash in the kitty.

That's the beauty of a site like this Bart,

We can share experiences, anecdotes; nobody is truly on their own. In fact, I firmly believe that in a situation like this it's easier, more beneficial and ultimately more effective to be able to "bear your soul in public," admit that you're feeling sh1tty and beaten, and know that people who, chances are, you're never going to meet in real life, can offer their support and advice in a most pure and non judgemental way.

Can you imagine asking a work colleague, or a relative, or a long standing friend the sort of questions that people feel free to ask here; it would never happen, you'd die of embarrassment at the thought.

There is such a fallacy perpetuated by governments, bureaucracies, big organisations that has such a pernicious effect on people's lives. Why the fook should we dance to their tune? Why should we feel guilty? Why should we feel obliged to be truthful when they lie as easily as they breathe? Why should we feel beaten?

They can't take money that somebody hasn't got; forget the bullsh1t, forget the worry, forget the conscience, just say no, no, no, I cannot and I will not be judged and intimidated by somebody else who came into this world the same way as I did, will leave it the same way as I will, and who makes the toilet stink the same way as everybody else does.

These people and these systems will appear so barbaric in another 100 years time. If there's one thing that would give me so much satisfaction it would be to see people who are downtrodden by this miserable system just laugh in it's putrid, evil stinking face and refuse to let this garbage affect their one and only chance at life on this planet (as far as we all know).

Sorry Remmer, point taken,

I'm a rational, logical, tax paying, law abiding citizen but it just makes me feel so outraged when people who are basically the bed rock of our society are so badly treated and just accept such outrageous treatment as though they somehow deserve it.

Everybody on this forum has made mistakes, what human being hasn't? But there really should be limits as to the misery that some people are obliged to endure.

We had a really enjoyable break, it does help to put things into perspective being away from all the !!!!!! that we've witnessed over the last couple of years. So much hypocrisy and double standards and really, what is the point of all this misery? To guarantee continued dividend growth for the RBS, or any other financial institiution?
