Small Claims Court Action!!!!

Hi, I'm new to the site and looking for a little feedback if you can help.

Has anyone ever taken a phone / internet supplier to the small claims court?

I've recently launched a small claims action against my provider for issues that arose due to their not acting with resonable care or skill and would be interested to hear any feedback from any one else that has had to take this course of action, and how they got on.

Many thanks

There was such a case on here recently against (I think) Orange. They didn't bother turning up. Which, if the claim is just a few hundred, is understandable. So I'd that say it very much depends on the size of your claim as to whether it's worth defending.
You'll know soon enough if the serving of your papers will be enough to make them settle, as is often the case.

care to expand? arose due to their not acting with resonable care or skill
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

don't want to go into too many details but basically my supplier altered my services without informing me which led to a great deal of problems. when I approached them about it they lied through their back teeth however a £10 sar request highlighted these lies and showed I was right from the start. not got much faith in ombudsmans so following my suppliers failure to address the matter I've started court action.

just trying to find any similar stories of people having to take their suppliers to court and how they got on.

Emotive terms, but lies? Probably incompetence, but then no outfit is immune. As noted, depending on the value of any claim, they may simply not defend and let you do the running and enforcement. If/when they pay up, you get paid but your service ends adversely.

You'll most likely be blocked from any further services at a later date, and ensure you do not owe them any money on your account, or they'll fry your CRA file.

you may not get anything with this, if they put it right and a court wont be happy that other avenues have not been exhausted

The last thing I wanted to do was to have to involve the courts but the supplier has refused to deal with my complaint correctly. when the matter has been addressed I'll be able to provide this thread with a few more details so you can understand why I took this action. I just wanted to see how others have got on when they've had to take this kind of action against a supplier

Others will have used the proper procedure and gone to the Ombudsman. Refusing to "trust" the Ombudsman will likely cost you dearly.
