It's over 10 years since my last pregnancy but I *think* I got told not to drink tea whilst taking the tablets, eg not just before or after a tablet rather than not drink at all, and also drinking orange juice helped with absorbing, so do you drink lots of that too? If not, you are indeed a medical mystery and should consider donating your body for scientific research.:D

Funnily enough orange juice is the one thing I've been craving. Didn't drink it/crave it before as it had too many WW points. Maybe the juice is cancelling the tea out? Lol

In the UK 6,447 people were admitted to hospital for dog bites in 2011-12, including over 1000 children.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2013/mar/27/dog-bites-data

So 0.0001% of the population even went to hospital for a dog bite. And only 6 people in the UK died from a dog bite last year (ONS stats). You might as well worry about being struck by lightening since more people die of that some years than from dog attacks.

Your body needs a decent level of Vit C to make use of the iron you eat but it doesn't have to come from orange juice.

ahh thanks. I couldn't quite remember exactly what they said, so decided not to put fruit juice or vit C, thought I was safer saying orange juice. :)

Well yes, it is ok. It's a 1 in 10 million chance.

If you're going to worry about things that have a 1 in 10 million chance of killing you, you wouldn't be able to do anything at all (or nothing - that's be too dangerous too.) Over 100 times as many people died falling down the stairs as died from dog attacks. Is it too dangerous to go to houses with stairs? Of course it isn't.

Edit: Can't find the number of cat bite deaths but a quick Google brings up plenty of stories about deaths and near-misses. Apparently there are a lot of very nasty germs in cat bites and scratches so they get infected easily.

I'm not sticking up for people who don't send their kids to houses just because there's a dog there - as I said earlier my DD is terrified of dogs but she goes to my friends house and my cousin's house where there's dogs and she runs around like a tit in a trance trying to get away from them which of course they think is her playing so it makes them worse (and for the record she's terrified of our two cats too - who are bone idle and very un-scary). You're right in that the risk of harm from a dog is very low, but imo you can't say "only 6 deaths" is okay.

It doesn't appear to me that Lizling is saying that 6 deaths are ok. The impression I'm getting is she is trying to put the death in context to other risks.

Point me to the part where I said anyone was killed by cats?

Did I say that cats were more unpredictable? Yes, why did I say this? Because they are.

Very true. But if there were six deaths last year of children who had been abducted by strangers we wouldn't be saying that was "ok" in comparison to anything else would we?

I don't believe you did other than to say your cat was nastier than your dog (however, I believe any dog is capable of turning given the right circumstances). I just responded to your answer to the post about how many people were killed by dogs by saying that I don't think it matters if it's one or one hundred. It's still too many imo.

I think I've gone far enough off topic (a speciality of mine :D).
