thanks this has been very useful, were are staying at splash landings in a few weeks time for my sons birthday

Hope you have as great a time as we did!

A few more pointers. We felt we did it the wrong way round - we did the park the first day and then the water park. It probably makes more sense to do the water park the first day - arriving anytime after 10 am and then hit the theme park the following day. Also if your room is not ready on arrival they will store your case for you and then put it in your room when it is ready for you.

    Have a great time!

We booked the water park tickets in advance, theme park tickets we used a mixture of clubcard deals and the Tesco BOGOF offer. We had a good time, but if I went again (which I know we will - DS is now an adrenelin junkie!!! ) I would def do the water park first (taking own lunch), eat out in the evening, and hit the theme park the next day.

Excellent. My intention is to go up on Monday and hit the waterpark once we have got there (need to phone and book tickets to save some ££) then hit the park the next day so all in all sounds great.

Thanks for the tips and information helps plan these things :p

iceland has an offer right now for bogof to alton towers and 1/2 price room b&b at either hotel- but it is not valid saturdays.
spend £15 (10 in scotland and ireland) and they give you a voucher booklet.
the cheapest room i was offered for friday was £68 b&b (sleeps 4) for one night.

Can I just add that i took my 2 kids there last year, stayed in the AT hotel and loved it there.

Was very impressed by the restaurant for breakfast and evening meal in the AT hotel but on our 2nd night decided to try the Splash Landings hotel for evening meal and never even got in, even though we had booked!!

They were queueing back miles and miles and a lot of desgruntled people were left with no food because no room back at the AT restaurant for non bookers!

Water park great fun (even for me at 42 going on 22!), we paid extra for unlimited fast pass tickets and what a great purchase they were on a busy day....queue jumped on all the major rides and went on each one about 7 times in a day. We left at about 3pm and found a deserving looking family and handed over our fast passes so they could have some fun towards the end of the day as well....don't think they could believe their luck!!

Like the music in the AT hotel lift as well......all this talk is making me want to go back again now!!
