The £29 air con charge will soon turn into "oh you need new tyres, brakes, suspension springs, a piece of exhaust.."0

Think I'll take my obscure grey import to them for a regas, I'd like to see them try replacing any of those things, especially the brakes since I have to get brakes from a different car and have someone drill them down from 5 stud to 4 stud.0 -
I have had mine re-gassed twice in my 5 years now, did it my self, ebay can etc costing £40 to £50 each time, simple to do, but only lasted 1 year or so, believe I must have a slow leak in system somewhere.
At the end of the day it depends on the value of the car, I NOW OPEN THE WINDOWS ON WARM DAYS NOT MANY OF THEM AT THE MOMENT. :beer:There are more questions than answers :shhh: :silenced:WARNING ! May go silent for unfriendly repliesPlease excuse me Spell it MOST times:A UK Resident :A0 -

Yes, and the temp inside the car would be high on a warm day if the ac is not working. My last car blew 20deg when the ac was on full when it needed a regass.0 -
I paid KF £49, and the system is now as good as new. I was given a printout showing the residual gas left (2%!) so no wonder it wasn't efficient. Regassed, and after 8 months I've no complaints.0

Thanks all. I think I will take it to KF. Seems reasonably cheap especially if they test for leaks etc. Saves high labour charges at the garage.£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

Think im going to have to get mine done,I see ATS is a bit cheaper £45,Tell me you know the cold pipe under the bonnet should that be cery cold with condensation on it? Mine seems a little bit cold but with no condensation.0

I had mine done last year, they have a machine that does it all for them so they literally can't do it wrong.
At no point did they try to sell me anything.
I did query the "if it's not colder you don't have to pay" thing (as I thought I'd find out exactly what difference it made) to find out they didn't bother taking any temperatures! Was definitely colder though.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0 -
We had the a/c recharged by KF last year (they tend to have special offers over the winter months). Made an amazing difference as a/c had never been touched in 10 years. We won't leave it so long until the next time! Our local KF gave us excellent service - no pressure to buy anything else or have any other work done.0
