Post Office Lady - Being noisy or just cautious?

Hello all,
This isn't really ebay realled, but rather something to do with the POST OFFICE.
I ordered some socks from John Lewis.co.uk. We missed the delivery from Parcel Force a few days ago, therefore the 'sorry we missed you card etc' was put through the door (no name / my name was not left on the card)
Today I waited in the car while mom went inside the post office to collect it (local collection). I gave my mom my ID, however the lady behind the counter refused to hand over the package because she wanted to know the contents of the package, ie what was inside of it.
To resolve this mom called me to meet her in the post office where the lady asked me what was inside. I had absolutely no idea what was inside because she refused to show me the parcel (she was hiding it underneath her counter
) - I then explained (although it was non of her damm business that I enter alot of competitions and my prizes get sent through the mail)
She then pulled out the parcel from underneath the counter and it was green with the John Lewis logo on, I then explained that it was my socks that I ordered.
I don't know if she was being just very noisy or cautious, although it just felt like she was making a big fuss about nothing! - Has this happened to anyone before?

You should have said 'a 12" vibrator'. Personally I would have told her to mind her own business.0

She probably wanted to make sure that your mum was the genuine recipient. It could have been someone in possession of your stolen ID. Where I live the PO are really stringent on ID to collect mail. The man without a signature.0 -
Dont think she's allowed to do that, silly cow. I'd complain if i was you.
But yeh. you are very lucky it wasnt a vibrator haha, or a sex swingI:coffee:

*wanders off to google sex swing*Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0
