Hi all, feeling a little grumpy this morning, set off for work. Normally of course city centre rush hour, lots of cutting up and idiots, and normally doesn't bother me, bit of an eye roll, get on with it.
However, this morning, along the way a white van attempts to cut me up and almost drives into the side of me. For some reason the red mist descended and next thing I know I'm throwing the two's at him and f-ing and blinding! He just stared at me aghast! Afterwards I was a little shocked at how I'd reacted as it was rather out of character!
So I put it to all of you (So I don't feel left out), how often does the redmist descend on you? Have you ever had occasions where afterwards you're a bit shocked by how you acted? What's the worst that ever happened?

I had a major red mist moment last year, my baby was just small, didnt sleep and I was feeling very under pressure my aunt was constantly dropping in on me sometimes 2 and 3 times a day and I always tried to drop hints that I just needed some space from visitors but for some strange reason she thought I meant everyone else and not her and on and on it continued.
Until one day I totally lost it with her, she shouted upstairs and woke baby (once again) and I flew down the stair and started screaming at her to leave me alone I didnt need her thrice daily visits to listen to her moans about work and her circle of friends and basically run her out of my door!! She only proceeded to tell everyone I needed to go to the doctors as I had something mentally wrong with me??? Families.... eh!! :eek:0

I think I would've frightened the poor lad even more if I was dressed as the queen!0

I get car rage all the time. Maybe there's just a high number of idiots on the roads locally but I have a shouting fit at least once on my trips to and from work. DH is the total opposite, no matter how idiotic a manoeuvre someone might make near him, he doesn't raise an eyebrow. I don't know how he does it.

Occassionaly it happens. Very often people just let things go and let it build up inside them and then one bad mood day the lose it and let it all out at once.
With road rage - oh yes, I get that sometimes too! About once a year, when someone is really behaving like they own the roads I suddenly feel I have to let them know that they don't and what I think of their inteligence:-))
I think you are lucky that the driver just stared aghast... as it is a white van man that does this all the time I would have expected retaliation... (as you might be surprised when you don't realise you are doing it, but these types know very well!!)0

The most angry I've gotten in a car is to give someone a good beep and a gesture. However I'm very cautious about beeping people this days - a couple of years ago someone pulled out on me as I was going round the roundabout (my right of way and I had to slam on the breaks). I gave him a beep. He stopped his car on the roundabout (big busy one - couldn't get round him) got out of his car and yelled at me through my car window  He then got back in and drove off !0

This happened to my OH! He was tootling along, didn't change lane, going speed limit etc. When he got to some lights, the passenger in the car beside him was gesturing, mouthing off etc, then he lept out of his car, came to my OH's window, called him a 'speccy four-eyes' (this was a middle-aged man!) and offering him out for a brawl.
OH just drove off, leaving this bloke hopping mad in the road. The female driver hadn't moved, gestured, said anything the whole time! To this day he has no idea what he did!0

I had one beeping and hand gesture rage the other day, felt bad immediately after!
Was coming off roundabout onto steep road and school kids were sauntering across the road, so I was holding up people on the roundabout and feeling stressed when they were taking the p*ss.0

The worst road rage I've seen is at DD/DS's school where I've twice seen a grandfather (the same man) take exception at nothing at all in the school car park, get out of his car, leaving wife and grandchild in the car, and physically try to get the objects of his rage out of their cars. One was a fella in a van who sensibly kept his door locked but the other was a woman with a car full of kids - he was running alongside the car screaming then opened her drivers door, yelling at her.
If I'd known who it was I'd have had no hesitation in reporting him but he could have been anyone out of 800 or so sets of parents/grandparents. Thankfully I haven't seen a repeat for a good while so he may have had anger management counselling. Or died from stress!!
