Getting myself sorted

  • Well payday today. Withdrew my weekly budget for the coming week and it will be tight as I've got a few things going on.

Paid for my monthly season ticket - £164.80, so one of my biggest expenses but thats my travel covered tip after Xmas. I need to be very good this month and not be temped to drive in when I already have my monthly ticket.

Also had to pay to have my shoes reheeled. Annoyingly cost £7.95!! but i guess thats cheaper than buying new shoes!

Also had to pay a deposit for an Xmas meal. I really wanted to get out of going but somehow couldn't!

Oh well. Will need to watch my spending but should still be able to stick under budget this week.

Might try for a No Spend Week?!?!?! Haha i'll let you know how that goes!

Have a good evening all xx

  • So quite a spendy weekend but still within budget, I just need to have a very low spend week!

Got some Xmas shopping to do tomorrow, but that comes out of a separate budget and I've got a purse full of money off coupons to use towards this.

I also need to get my knitting needles out and try and knock-out a homemade Xmas pressie to save some pennies (i've got free wool!) I should be able to do, but I'm not world's fastest knitter :-(

I also need to finish my Xmas cards, I'm making them myself - I've got all the stuff so it'll cost me nothing but time :-)

I've also signed up to this month's NSD challenge so hopefully this will keep me in check!

Righto, thats all for now xx

  • So set myself a christmas present budget of £100. It's proving to be very tight!!!

Need to keep within it and remember that it's not all about how much you spend on loved ones!

I've really noticed this year how much people spend and to be honest, it's horrible! I just can't believe that people have that much money to spend without getting themselves into debt!

  • Hello purpleangel, thanks for stopping by!

Very upset this evening - I went to tes*os and they have trolled where you pop in the £1 to use. Did my shopping, on budget and everything, and when I went to return the trolley, the £1 was gone! Has ruined all my roadkill efforts!

Upsetting as I had been saving that £1 to go in my sealed pot! :-(

  • Wow isn't December flying by!

Nothing really to report, all on track and on budget. Have racked up a couple of NSD along the way too.

I'm doing very well this month at avoiding coffee shops, which is normally my downfall.

Present budget going well, only a few more things to buy and a few bits to finish making! I'm going to need to speed up my knitting if I'm going to finish one of my pressies on time! Should hopefully manage it!

I'm feeling very positive about 2014!!

  • Hello

Just thought I'd pick up on your post on 4 December - I've lost a few £1s when I've been walking round supermarkets, but I check before I finish my shopping that it is still there now and if it isn't I go to the customer service desk to get my money back. Never once have they refused to give me my money so worth a shot next time it happens.:D

    Have a lovely day.

wow I can't believe how long its been since I posted on here. I have been lurking and posting on other threads...but I've probably been in denial and not been as good as I should have been...hence the avoidance of my own thread.

    Anyway I'm back now.

I've paid up and closed one credit card. I've also downloaded YNOB freebie version today and been trialling that. So far its good so if i religiously use it for the 34 day free trial I think I will subscribe to it.

Definitely want to get back on the wagon and boost my savings again.

Hopefully, I be back on track now and I will post again soon!
